(Aalborg, In Office) You'll be the person who makes customer drones work with our autonomy software. That means:
Fitting compute modules, cameras, and sensors onto various airframes
Building integration kits and writing up clear, repeatable procedures
Running flight tests and collecting performance data
Keeping our demo and test fleet flight-ready and properly maintained
Managing parts, tools, and hardware stock for the engineering team
You'll bridge between engineers (who need test data and hardware troubleshooting) and sales (who need customer integrations done and demos ready to fly), reporting directly to Robotto's Principal Engineer, with close coordination with Commercial/Sales for demo and customer integration planning.
Someone with solid hands-on UAV experience who's methodical, documents their work properly, and can pick things up fast. This works for either a junior tech looking to grow or a mid-level person who wants to work on cutting-edge autonomy systems.
1 Hardware integration
Install Robotto compute modules, cameras, sensors, and wiring on customer drones (quadcopters primarily, fixed-wing occasionally)
Design and 3D-print custom mounts, brackets, and cable management solutions
Build repeatable integration kits that work across multiple platforms
2 Documentation & quality
Write clear build guides with BOMs, wiring diagrams, and photos
Track configurations: what's on each platform, what version, what changed
Log test results and integration notes
3 Testing & fleet management
Plan and run staged tests: bench → ground → flight
Keep demo and customer drones flight-ready at short notice
Manage workshop inventory: parts, tools, spares, charging, storage
4 Working with the team
Coordinate with sales on demo timing, setup, and what could go wrong
Support engineering with hands-on troubleshooting during tests
Help customers and partners follow integration procedures
You can take a customer drone and turn it into a Robotto platform following clear, repeatable steps you've built
Demo fleet is maintained and flight-ready - anyone can grab one and go
Integration time per drone drops because you've worked out the efficient process, standardised the parts, and refined the mounts
Engineering gets proper test data and logs that they can actually use to improve the software
Practical experience with drones/RC systems (building, repairing, modifying) through work, education, or serious hobby activity
Comfort with hands-on electronics and mechanics: wiring/connectors, power systems, mounting, tools, and workshop practices
3D printing experience (FDM preferred): slicing, calibration, and printing functional parts
Ability to follow and improve structured processes; you document your work clearly
Comfortable with Linux-based devices at a basic level (setup steps, updates, checking logs)
Fluent in English (written and spoken). Danish is a plus.
UAV/drone pilot license or a remote pilot certificate (EASA or national equivalent) is a big plus
Practical flight experience running structured test flights (pre-flight checks, safety procedures, log collection, controlled test plans)
Basic CAD skills for simple parts (Fusion 360, Onshape, SolidWorks, etc.)
Experience with ArduPilot setup and calibration
Familiarity with cameras (RGB/thermal), streaming, and basic networking
Experience reading flight logs and doing basic analysis
Experience preparing platforms for repeatable demonstrations under time pressure
Background checks or handling of sensitive information may be required.
A diver's license is preferred
Aalborg, Denmark (occasional travel for customer integrations and demos)
Please send your CV and cover letter along with any relevant documentation and certificates to Robotto's Principal Engineer.
Robotto delivers mission-critical autonomy software for unmanned systems, engineered for operational effectiveness in contested environments. Our platform-agnostic solution integrates seamlessly across customer hardware, enabling vision-based navigation and autonomous decision-making where GPS fails, and communications are jammed. We work directly with partners and operational units to deploy, test, and validate systems under real-world conditions.
