Your role as a Senior Payroll Expert

We are looking for an experienced Dutch payroll professional who knows payroll inside out and feels confident working with different collective agreements, small businesses, and practical day‑to‑day payroll questions.

In this role, you will use your payroll expertise to help us build and continuously improve our payroll solution for the Dutch market.
Your main responsibility is to make sure our payroll calculations are correct, compliant, and up to date. You will work closely with our Support team and the colleagues who maintain our payroll system, so that your payroll knowledge is reflected in how the system works.

Experience working for a payroll software company is a plus, but not required. We actively welcome candidates with strong hands‑on payroll experience from bookkeeping offices, accountancy firms, or payroll service providers.

This role is perfect for someone who wants to take the next step in their career — moving from processing payroll to helping shape and build a modern payroll solution.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Be the payroll expert for the Dutch market

  • Monitor changes in Dutch payroll legislation and collective agreements

  • Help implement and maintain payroll rules in our internal payroll system (training provided)

  • Support the Support team with complex payroll questions

  • Check and review payroll calculations to ensure accuracy

  • Work closely with colleagues to make payroll processes smoother and more efficient

  • Provide practical input to improve our payroll solution based on real payroll experience

  • Help us make payroll easier for small businesses

📍 This Job located in Amsterdam, with the possibility of two remote working days per week

About you

  • Native or fluent Dutch (required), good English skills (spoken and written)

  • 5+ years of experience in payroll administration

  • Strong hands-on experience with payroll for small or medium-sized businesses

  • Recognized as a payroll expert in your previous role

  • Solid knowledge of Dutch payroll rules, employment law, and collective agreements

  • Comfortable working with digital tools (no coding or technical background needed)

  • Accurate, structured, and detail‑oriented

  • Able to explain payroll topics clearly to others

  • Proactive, reliable, and used to working independently

Team

You will work closely with:

  • Our Support team (4 colleagues)

  • A small group of colleagues maintaining the payroll system

  • Other teams when payroll expertise is needed

You will be the main payroll expert for the Dutch market and an important partner for several teams.

Why this role is special

  • Be a part of building the future of payroll, not maintain systems older than 10 years

  • Real impact on a product used daily by entrepreneurs

  • Strong ownership and autonomy

  • Modern office, 15 minutes from Amsterdam Central Station

  • Great daily lunch and social events

  • Possibility to work from our other office hubs across Paris, Copenhagen and Berlin

  • Collaborative, human-focused fintech environment
