As part of our continued growth, we are looking for ambitious students to join our Commercial Team as Business Development & Market Research Specialists (Interns). In this role, you will support WasteHero’s growth strategy by identifying new market opportunities, supporting sales initiatives, and contributing to strategic expansion across Europe.
The internship starts in January / February and follows the university semester until summer. We are looking for students who can commit for the full semester and are motivated to take on real commercial responsibility alongside their studies.
As a Business Development & Market Research Specialist Intern, you will play a key role in strengthening WasteHero’s commercial pipeline. You will work closely with sales, growth, and leadership teams to identify new opportunities, analyze markets, and support customer-facing activities.
You will gain hands-on experience in business development, market research, sales support, and tender-related processes, while learning how a fast-growing SaaS company operates in both the public and private sector.
Identify and map upcoming public and private tender processes and market opportunities
Conduct market research and customer segmentation analysis to support sales and growth strategies
Contribute to lead generation and opportunity qualification
Assist the sales team with business cases, presentations, and product demonstrations
Support the preparation of tender submissions and commercial proposals
Perform competitor and market analysis to inform strategic decisions
Maintain and update CRM systems and internal tracking tools
Actively use AI tools to support research, analysis, and content preparation
You are a student in business development, economics, marketing, sales, or a related field
Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to problem-solving
Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of tasks
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Confident in using AI tools to increase efficiency and insight
Comfortable with Google Workspace or Microsoft equivalents
Interest in technology, sustainability, and public sector innovation
Hands-on experience in business development and market research
Exposure to public sector innovation and SaaS sales
Close collaboration with experienced commercial leaders
