Are you tired of designing pretty landing pages that don't solve real problems? At WasteHero, we deal with the real world. Heavy trucks, complex route algorithms, municipal billing, and citizen self-service. The waste industry has been stuck in the 90s with clunky, gray legacy systems. We are changing that.
We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our HQ in Aarhus. You will not just be "colouring in the wireframes." You will be a strategic partner to our Product Owners and Engineers, turning complex data into intuitive, seamless user experiences.
You will be the voice of the user in our Aarhus Headquarters. Your job is to close the gap between what the system can do (logic/backend) and what the user needs to do (experience).
You will work side-by-side with our Product Owners and Engineering Leads in a "Product Trio" setup. While the developers build the engine, and the PO defines the destination, you design the steering wheel.
Deep User Empathy: You will go on-site with waste managers and drivers. You need to understand their pains. Why did they click the wrong button? Why is the pricing module confusing them? You map these journeys to find the friction.
From Sketch to System: You own the design process from messy whiteboard sketches to high-fidelity Figma prototypes. You validate your ideas before we write a single line of code.
Taming Complexity: Waste management involves massive amounts of data. Your superpower is Information Architecture—taking complex tables, maps, and settings and making them scannable and understandable.
Design System Guardian: You will maintain and evolve our Design System, ensuring that whether a user is in our Billing Engine or Route Planner, the experience feels consistent, accessible, and "WasteHero."
Discovery & Research: Conduct user interviews and usability testing to validate features.
UX Architecture: Create user flows, wireframes, and journey maps that solve specific operational problems.
UI Execution: Deliver pixel-perfect designs in Figma that developers love to implement.
Collaboration: Work closely with the development team to ensure the implemented product matches the design vision.
5+ years of experience as a Product Designer or UI/UX Designer, preferably in B2B SaaS or complex enterprise software.
Tool Mastery: You are fluent in Figma. You know how to use auto-layout, components, and variables efficiently.
Analytical Design: You don't just design for aesthetics; you design for function. You can explain why a button should be placed there based on user data or logic.
Communication: You are fluent in English. You can present your design rationale clearly to stakeholders and push back when necessary to protect the user experience.
No Code Required: Unlike some hybrid roles, we do not expect you to write React code. We want you to be the best Designer possible. However, understanding how frontend works (HTML/CSS limitations) is a huge plus for collaboration.
This is not a "sit in the corner and design icons" role. You will be sitting centrally in Aarhus with the decision-makers. The features you design will manage critical infrastructure for cities. When you do your job well, fewer trucks drive unnecessary miles, and citizens get their waste picked up on time.
Strategic Proximity: Based at HQ in Aarhus, working directly with the Founder and Leadership.
Real Impact: Build software that actively lowers CO2 emissions and modernizes public infrastructure.
Ownership: We are a scale-up. You won't be bogged down by corporate red tape. If you have a better way to design it, we build it.
Growth: Competitive salary, warrants program, and a social, ambitious team culture.
