Tech Lead / Future CTO – AI for Planetary Decisions

Build the AI engine that helps businesses make smarter choices for the planet. We’re looking for a Tech Lead who wants to architect, build, and scale the next generation of AI-powered sustainability systems — tools that help thousands of small and mid-sized companies understand their impact and make better decisions for the planet. This is a role for someone who thrives in the space between AI engineering, systems architecture, and hands-on product development.  Someone who wants ownership. Someone who wants responsibility.  Someone who wants to build the machine, not just code inside it. If you enjoy switching between reasoning models, agents, knowledge graphs, vector stores, API integrations, and front-end logic — and you’re motivated by real-world impact — you’ll feel at home here. Sustainability experience is not required, but curiosity for planetary challenges is a strong plus. We build technology that shapes real decisions — in procurement, strategy, emissions, resource use, risk management — and you’ll be a core part of making that possible.

What you will do

• Own and evolve Scopes’ AI architecture — from ingestion and retrieval to analysis, reasoning, and automated workflows

• Build and refine our multi-agent system for ESG/CSRD decision support

• Develop new AI capabilities: sanity filters, cluster-breakers, validation models, orchestrators and more

• Work closely with design, ESG experts and founders to translate complex sustainability frameworks into scalable, intelligent systems

• Shape our long-term technical roadmap and lead the way toward a full CTO role

• Help build a clean, modern, testable codebase you’ll be proud of

  
  

What we’re looking for

• Deep understanding of modern AI stacks (LLMs, RAG, embeddings, vector stores, agents, orchestration frameworks)

• Strong architectural mindset — you understand how systems fit together

• Comfortable moving between hands-on coding and high-level technical strategy

• Strong TypeScript skills (or ability to pick it up fast)

• Curiosity for complex domains and ability to turn messy inputs into elegant systems

• Bonus: experience with reasoning engines, knowledge graphs, or AI safety/logical validation
