At Lifebonder, we’re on a mission to break social media addiction, fake personas, cyber-bullying, cancel culture, and loneliness by providing a Mesaverse that lives up to the promise of what social media can be: A safe place to facilitate human connections rather than replace them.
We want to make the world a better place by filling a growing need for direct socializing outside social media - connecting people in friendships that are human, profound, and meaningful. LifeBonder makes it easy for people to connect in a deeper reality through shared spaces, values, and goals because our vision is to build social bonds in real life.
Note: This is an UNPAID part-time volunteer opportunity!
You’re an experienced backend developer with solid, hands-on expertise in .NET / .NET Core and MVC, and you know how to build well-structured, maintainable systems using modern backend practices. You’re comfortable working with Entity Framework and PostgreSQL, and you have exposure to Firebase and microservices architecture.
You bring depth, reliability, and a strong command of backend fundamentals—someone who can take ownership of complex tasks and deliver clean, thoughtful solutions.
You’ll collaborate with a focused, fast-moving development team to build the next-generation social networking app—designed to create healthier, more meaningful digital interactions.
In this role, you’ll:
• Build and evolve core backend features using .NET Core and MVC, writing clean, scalable code that drives real product functionality.
• Improve and refine existing systems, strengthening performance, reliability, and overall architecture.
• Work deeply with Entity Framework and PostgreSQL, shaping the data layer that underpins the entire platform.
This is hands-on, product-critical engineering—your work will directly influence the experience millions of users can eventually have
We’re looking for a backend developer who thrives in a fully remote, self-directed environment and brings real energy to delivering reliable, well-engineered systems. If you’re the kind of developer who doesn’t wait for instruction, stays accountable, and communicates with clarity, you’ll excel here.
You’ll work across a modern .NET stack—.NET/.NET Core, Entity Framework, MVC—and build the APIs that anchor our product. You’ll regularly use Swagger to test and validate endpoints, and you’ll work with Entity Framework and PostgreSQL as your primary database technologies. There may also be opportunities to work with microservices as we scale.
This role demands independence: you’ll set your own structure, maintain momentum without hand-holding, and stay responsive and engaged day-to-day. Clear communication is critical, as you’ll collaborate with a distributed team that moves quickly and expects the same from you.
If you’re motivated by ownership, technical depth, and the satisfaction of building backend systems that run smoothly and matter, you’ll find this role a strong match for how you work.
