Location: Remote. You can be based anywhere, ideally in Scandinavia. Otherwise, please be in Copenhagen's time zone (CET/CEST), or within a maximum difference of ±1–3 hours (for practical reasons).
Time: Part-time to start (4–12 hours/week, depending on your current availability), growing if it works for both of us.
Compensation: No salary yet. The company is fully privately funded. Equity + high project share. Details below. Read them before you apply.
Start date: As soon as possible.
Nørd Studio is a bootstrapped branding and packaging studio based in Copenhagen. We do branding, packaging design, web design, and content design for clients across the Nordics and beyond. We're small, early stage, and serious about building something good.
We're looking for a partner, not an employee, who designs well, thinks strategically, and wants to build a studio together rather than just take on freelance tasks under someone else's name.
This starts alongside whatever you're already doing. If it works, it grows.
This is not a salaried position. There's no funding at this stage, no investor money. You earn from the projects you bring in and lead (and from the project we bring and you work on), and you get equity in something amazing we build together: Nørd Studio.
If that's a dealbreaker, no hard feelings (we get it). If it's not, keep reading.
The core of the role is design + client work:
Design brand identities and packaging (bonus if you can design websites and digital experiences in Figma and Framer)
Work in Figma for concepts and collaboration, Framer for live sites (or be ready to learn it)
Lead projects from brief to delivery
Collaborate with other creatives
But because this is a partner/co-founder role, you'd also:
Help shape Nørd Studio's offer and positioning
Bring in clients from your network and help find new ones together (finding the ideal niche to target via Meta Ads/Google Ads, etc.)
Join strategic decisions about which markets, services, and projects we say yes to
Co-create case studies and conceptual work that shows what we can do
Help showcase our work on Behance, Instagram and LinkedIn
That second part matters. We need someone who's comfortable being visible, talking to potential clients, and thinking about the business — not just the design files.
Ideally, you should have at least a bachelor's degree in brand design, graphic design or digital design
Several years of experience in brand/graphic design (freelance, studio, or agency). However, nothing is set in stone: if you are a recent graduate with lots of cool ideas and enthusiasm, do not hesitate to apply
Confident in Figma, hands-on with Framer or very willing to learn it
Based in Scandinavia (literally anywhere)
Proactive, honest, and comfortable with direct communication
Fluent in English and one Scandinavian language
Interested in accessibility, ethics, and inclusive design (not just as buzzwords)
Willing to bring in work and grow the client base with us
WILLING TO SHAPE NØRD STUDIO and making it thrive into something unique
You should align with our values. Therefore, we kindly ask you to read the Accessibility, AI Stance and Privacy sections in the website footer
You don't need a huge portfolio of clients on day one. But you should be the kind of person who can start a conversation with a potential client without dreading it.
Partner role with 10% equity (vesting over 1 year, exact terms shaped together)
70–85% project share on projects you work on, depending on who brought the client
A partner in Copenhagen who handles ops, admin, tools, and much of the outward marketing
Freedom to work from wherever — we care about the work, not the location
A studio with values that aren't decorative — we align with the UN Global Compact, we don't take clients that clash with our ethics, and we're transparent about money and tools
As revenue stabilises, we'll formalise the structure and introduce a competitive salary for both of us. The exact path gets decided together, as a team.
Transparency. Clients know exactly what they pay for and who does the work. No mystery markups. The pricing will be discussed with you (which is you the page is currently under construction).
Nordic expertise. We live in Scandinavia. We know how the markets work, what feels familiar, and what accidentally offends.
Accessibility built in. Not bolted on at the end. EU Accessibility Act 2025 compliance is part of how we work.
We try to make the planet a better place. That's why we do our very best to preserve it.
Ethical business. We live up to what we promise and we decline work that goes against our values.
We always prefer European providers to American ones. This is because we believe in EU digital sovereignty and care about privacy.
If you are ready to shape something amazing, send us:
A short intro: who you are, what your current setup looks like (freelance, employed, studio, unemployed, etc.). There is no wrong answer.
A portfolio link with relevant work.
A few honest lines about what you'd want and wouldn't want from a partner/co-founder role, and what kind of clients or sectors excite you.
It's not compulsory, but it would be great if you could record a short presentation video of yourself, which you can then past into your resume. After all, so many people nowadays just delegate everything to ChatGPT, which is becoming quite annoying.
If you would prefer not to send a video, please write a few lines explaining why you are applying. Sending only a resume and a portfolio without not evening saying "hello" is a bit... well, weird.
Submit your application in English or a Scandinavian language.
