The QA Lead ensures the quality and reliability of Nordbo Robotics’ integrated software–hardware products. This role defines and drives testing practices across development projects, builds test infrastructure, and verifies that our robotic solutions perform consistently from lab to field.
Our systems combine software with industrial robots, cobots, vision systems, PLCs, and mechanical components. The QA Lead is responsible for validating these end-to-end integrations and acts as the quality gatekeeper between development and deployment.
The position also coordinates test activities with our part-time tester in China, ensuring consistent test coverage and knowledge sharing across teams.
Testing & Quality Assurance
Define and maintain test strategies covering system integration, regression, and acceptance testing.
Build and evolve test environments that replicate real-world robotic setups (robots, vision, PLCs, sensors).
Develop and maintain manual and semi-automated test procedures for both software and hardware components.
Coordinate and review test execution by the part-time tester in China, ensuring aligned priorities, clear test cases, and consistent reporting.
Support R&D teams in implementing unit and integration tests within CI/CD pipelines.
Ensure issues found in testing are clearly reported, tracked, and verified before release.
Participate in field validation when needed, supporting engineers during on-site system testing.
Quality Standards & Continuous Improvement
Maintain organized and traceable documentation of tests, issues, and validation results.
Support compliance activities (e.g., ISO 9001, CE marking) by ensuring test documentation and traceability are available for certification processes.
Introduce structured quality practices within R&D, such as versioned test plans, review gates, and continuous improvement based on metrics and feedback.
Promote safety and good laboratory practices in workshop and integration areas.
Contribute to a culture of quality awareness throughout the development cycle.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Collaborate closely with software, mechanical, and robotics engineers to plan and execute test campaigns.
Work with Product Management to translate customer requirements into measurable acceptance criteria.
Provide structured feedback from test results to guide design improvements and risk assessments.
Communicate quality metrics and findings clearly across teams and management.
Serve as liaison between R&D Denmark and test activities in China, ensuring alignment and regular communication.
Required
Experience in testing complex software-hardware or robotic systems.
Strong understanding of test planning, execution, and reporting.
Structured and detail-oriented approach to documentation and communication.
Hands-on experience with tools for issue tracking, version control, and CI/CD.
Comfortable working cross-functionally and coordinating remote colleagues.
Nice to Have
Experience with industrial robots, cobots, or automation systems.
Familiarity with test automation frameworks (e.g., Python, Robot Framework, or similar).
Understanding of ISO 9001, CE marking, or other industrial compliance frameworks.
Background in mechatronics, robotics, or software engineering.
You’ll be joining a passionate team developing cutting-edge automation technologies used by manufacturers worldwide. As the first dedicated QA Lead, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we ensure reliability and quality across our product line — from software platforms to full robotic systems.
This is a hands-on position with significant impact and room to grow into a broader quality leadership role as the company scales.
