The Role

We are seeking an analytical and proactive finance professional to take ownership of WasteHero’s finance function. You will work closely with the leadership team and play a central role in the company’s continued growth and scaling.

The role combines hands-on responsibility for accounting and financial operations with strategic business support. You will manage day-to-day bookkeeping, reporting, and compliance, while also supporting decision-making with data-driven financial insights.

You will take over from external providers and establish WasteHero’s internal financial processes, ensuring structure, transparency, and control. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building from the ground up and wants a role with genuine influence on company performance.


Key Responsibilities

Finance & Accounting

  • Manage daily bookkeeping and financial operations (via e-conomic)

  • Handle monthly closings, bank reconciliations, VAT, and tax submissions

  • Coordinate with external auditor and prepare annual accounts

  • Oversee systems including Pleo, Corpay, and related finance tools

Business Analysis & Controlling

  • Conduct financial analyses of tenders, customer proposals, and pricing models

  • Develop business cases and profitability analyses for projects and clients

  • Track and evaluate the financial performance of key projects and initiatives

Reporting & Strategy

  • Prepare management and board reports

  • Support financial planning and KPI development

  • Contribute to pricing evaluations and overall financial strategy


About You

  • 4–8 years of experience in finance, accounting, or controlling

  • Strong analytical mindset and understanding of business drivers

  • Experienced user of e-conomic, Pleo, Excel, and preferably Power BI

  • Self-driven and structured with a focus on execution and quality

  • Comfortable collaborating closely with leadership and challenging with data

  • Fluent in Danish and English, both written and spoken
