Learning Content Intern (Curriculum Builder for Excel App) Remote

Salary Unpaid

About Spuddle

Spuddle is building a Duolingo-style app for Excel to help young professionals boost their digital confidence and career readiness. We’re turning boring spreadsheet tutorials into fun, bite-sized learning with gamification, microlearning, and community at the core. Our story began on Instagram and TikTok, where we grew to over 200.000 followers in just six months by sharing simple Excel tips. Now, we’re turning that traction into a global EdTech startup.

The Role

We’re looking for a Learning Content Intern to help design and build the actual learning experience inside our app. You’ll be responsible for turning Excel functions and tools into engaging, interactive lessons and challenges that make users feel like they’re playing, not studying.

We'll help you create an overview of which topics and formulas each course should cover and support you with guidelines, but from there, it’s your job to create clear, logical, and fun in-app exercises that teach users step-by-step. You’ll have a lot of ownership over what our users will actually be faced with when they're learning in the app.

What you’ll do

  • Build lesson structures and exercises based on given Excel topics (e.g., XLOOKUP, keyboard shortcuts, IF functions, etc.).

  • Write challenge-style questions and explanations that fit our app format and tone.

  • Ensure content follows our internal pedagogical guidelines for clarity and progression.

  • Collaborate with the founders, designer, and developer to bring lessons to life in the app.

  • Test your content in early app builds and refine based on feedback.

Who you are

  • You have solid understanding of Excel and enjoy using it (you don’t need to be an expert, but you should know your way around formulas, functions, and data tools).

  • You’re structured, detail-oriented, and can work independently.

  • You have a good sense of learning flow, how to teach something step-by-step.

  • You love the idea of making learning fun and accessible.

  • (Bonus) You study something related to Business, Education, IT, Data, or Communication.

Practical details

  • Duration: 3-6 months (unpaid internship)

  • Start: November 2025

  • Location: Remote or Copenhagen

  • Hours: Flexible (part-time or full-time)

Why join us?

You’ll be part of a small, ambitious team working to make Excel education as engaging as Duolingo made languages. You’ll gain real experience in EdTech, content creation, and product development.

Spuddle

Spuddle is developing a Duolingo-style app for Excel to help young professionals boost their digital confidence and career readiness by turning complex skills into fun, bite-sized learning. Our secret sauce? Gamification, microlearning, and a community-driven approach that makes Excel something you actually want to practice. Across the world, more than a billion people use Excel and yet most have never been taught how to use it properly. For young professionals and recent graduates, this creates a huge barrier: they’re expected to “just know” Excel, but in reality many feel insecure, waste time on manual tasks, or miss out on opportunities because of weak digital skills. This gap affects productivity, confidence, and employability and it’s widespread across industries, especially in early career roles where Excel is a daily tool. We’re building a mobile app that makes learning Excel engaging and accessible, like Duolingo, but for spreadsheets. Instead of long, boring tutorials, users complete short, gamified exercises that fit into their everyday routines. The app adapts to their level, rewards progress, and helps them practice consistently until Excel becomes second nature. Beyond Excel, our vision is to expand into other workplace tools, becoming the go-to microlearning platform for digital skills. Spuddle started as a side project on social media. We shared quick Excel tips on Instagram and TikTok, and within six months had over 200,000 followers. The overwhelming response showed us just how many young professionals struggle with these skills and how much they crave accessible, fun learning. What began as a hobby quickly grew into a mission: to make digital skills education less intimidating and more empowering. We’re building Spuddle because we’ve lived the problem ourselves, and we believe mastering the basics should feel motivating, not overwhelming.
