Munchi is an AI-powered restaurant platform built to help restaurants grow, not just operate.

We combine POS, online ordering, kiosks, loyalty, and payments into one simple system.

Restaurants use Munchi to run everything from one place and turn every order: in-person, online, or through delivery apps, into a growth engine.

We’re based in Helsinki and backed by early investors, angels, and founders who believe in fixing how restaurant tech works.

The role

We’re looking for a hands-on mid -> senior full-stack developer to join as a founding engineer and work closely with our CTO and a small engineering team of 2.

You’ll help stabilize and scale our platform, mentor junior developers, and play a key role in shaping our technical direction as we grow.

We’re not looking for a manager, we’re looking for a builder. Someone who thrives in early-stage chaos, loves solving real-world problems, and wants ownership.

What you’ll do

• Build and improve Munchi’s core products and systems (POS, kiosks, loyalty, dashboards, apps).

• Help stabilize current tech: fix, optimize, and future-proof our stack

• Leading test strategy & execution, make sure we architect most test coverage without super-slowing down the development life cycle

• Guide and mentor our junior developers through code reviews and pair programming.

• Collaborate directly with the founders and design decisions for scalability.

• Ship fast, test properly, and help bring structure to our dev processes.

Tech stack

• Frontend: React.js, React Native, Expo, NativeWind, Shadcn, TailwindCSS

• Backend & APIs: Node.js, Python, TypeScript, NestJS, MongoDB, Prisma, Supabase, Redis

• Testing: Unit, e2e

• Infrastructure: Google Cloud, Terraform, Docker, GitHub CI/CD

• Integrations: Payment providers (Viva, Stripe), Delivery APIs, and more

• Tools: Linear, Excalidraw, Cursor, and/or some automation tools (i.e: we have our employee coderabbit to review your code)

You might be a fit if you

• Minimum 4+ years of experience as a full-stack or backend engineer

• Enjoy working in fast-moving startup environments

• Can take ownership, make architectural decisions, and deliver

• Have experience mentoring other developers

• Believe in building products that actually help small businesses win

• Want to grow into a key technical leader or co-founder
