Engineer – build the future of heavy-lift cargo drones

Salary Competitive

Some people like to design in CAD. Others prefer to roll up their sleeves and build in real life. As an engineer with us, you get to do both. Whether this is your first or next career step, you’ll have the chance to grow your skills in a rapidly developing industry — and become an expert in designing and building high-speed, heavy-load cargo drones.

Your Role

As part of our technical team, you will work closely with our CTO to design, prototype, and test key mechanical systems for our next-generation cargo drones. This will include both digital design and hands-on assembly and testing in our workshop.

You will:

  • Design, model, and optimize structural and mechanical components in CAD.

  • Build and test prototypes using 3D print, CNC and laser cutting tools.

  • Participate in composite carbon fiber manufacturing processes.

  • Contribute to improving our manufacturing processes for efficiency and scalability.

  • Document designs and test results to support certification and compliance processes.

About You

We’re looking for someone curious, hands-on, and eager to work across disciplines. You should enjoy solving complex problems and turning ideas into working systems. You have a can-do attitude and are not afraid to work across multiple disciplines in small teams and often alone.

You likely have:

  • A degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechatronics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)

  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, CATIA)

  • Practical prototyping and workshop skills (e.g., machining, 3D printing, composite work)

  • An interest in UAVs, aerospace, or robotics.

  • A problem-solving mindset and a willingness to get your hands dirty in the workshop.

  • Ability to conduct mechanical, thermal and aerodynamic simulations is a plus.

Experience with aerodynamics, lightweight structures, or propulsion systems is a plus, but not required. As an early-stage startup pushing the boundaries of innovation, we offer a salary typical for our phase of growth.

Working at
Acodyne

Acodyne is a cargo drone startup developing heavy-lift, high-speed UAVs designed to enable logistics in remote, challenging, and contested environments. Our mission is to provide a faster, more flexible alternative to traditional transport solutions—supporting critical supply chains in both civil and defense applications. By combining advanced aeronautics with robust engineering, we are building UAVs capable of carrying substantial payloads over long distances, even in environments where conventional transport cannot operate. Acodyne is based at DTU in Lyngby, with our workshop and testing facilities located at Avedøre Airfield.
