About the role

We are now looking for a commercially sharp and structured Assortment Lead to take ownership of our assortment structure, supplier relationships, and product profitability. You will play a key role in improving margins and driving sourcing efficiency.

In this role, you'll work closely with our product development, operations, and sales teams – combining hands-on execution with strategic thinking. You’ll be responsible for creating the structure that helps Hem scale sustainably and profitably.


Responsibilities

As Assortment & Sourcing Lead, your responsibilities will include:

Assortment & Margin Control

  • Analyze assortment performance and propose actions to phase in, phase out, or improve products
  • Track landed costs and gross margins at product and category level
  • Support data-driven pricing and assortment decisions
  • Identify underperforming SKUs and suggest concrete improvements

Supplier Management & Sourcing

  • Be the main point of contact for our supplier base, from order discussions to escalations
  • Drive commercial negotiations and secure better pricing, payment terms, and delivery performance
  • Collaborate with internal teams to consolidate and reduce the supplier base

Product Data & Systems

  • Ensure correct SKU setup, BOMs and price lists in ERP and other related systems
  • Improve data quality and system consistency
  • Maintain transparency and traceability in sourcing and cost data

Collaboration & Process

  • Partner closely with Product Development, Operations and Sales
  • Support assortment reviews, supplier onboarding and product lifecycle projects
  • Help shape processes around assortment planning, margin reviews and supplier transitions


We believe you probably...

  • Have 3–5 years of experience in sourcing, product or assortment roles within furniture, design or consumer goods
  • Are a confident negotiator who knows how to push back while maintaining strong supplier relationships
  • Are hands-on and structured, with strong skills in Excel and ERP systems
  • Understand product lifecycle economics and how assortment impacts margin
  • Are curious and collaborative – you work well across teams and functions
  • Have excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
  • Are motivated by finding ways to improve and bring clarity where others see complexity


Bonus if you also...

  • Have experience working with BOM structures and customisable products
  • Have insight into material sourcing, especially wood, textiles, and metal
  • Understand furniture production processes and supply chains
  • Are passionate about design, product, and sustainability
