We are now expanding our team and seeking a talented Senior Application Developer to take our existing speech recognition powered desktop applications to the next level, and further improve our applications' interactions with third party programs. The ideal candidate possesses a strong track record in building robust desktop applications for Windows, but also a healthy understanding of building universal applications with technologies such as Electron or Tauri. 

Key responsibilities:

• Application development: Work together with our expert team to build new tools, and implement new features, to our desktop applications that serve our customers 

• Accessibility features and API bindings: Make a real difference by diving deep into native OS-level accessibility API bindings and bringing accessibility features to life across multiple platforms 

• Tooling: Work with the latest tools and libraries 

• Features: Maintain and build new features for our speech recognition powered systems 

Relevant technologies:

Rust, Mac & Windows Accessibility APIs, Citrix, Electron, Tauri, Typescript, React 

What we are looking for:

• Senior-level application development experience: 5+ years of professional experience in building desktop applications for Windows and other platforms with native tools or frameworks such as Electron or Tauri 

• Windows APIs and UI automation: Prior experience with utilizing lower-level Windows APIs (win32) and UI automation. 

• Adaptability: Ability to learn and adopt new tools, languages, and frameworks as needed 

• Maintainable by design: Strive to make solutions that are lean, simple, and maintainable. Also eagerness to adopt modern tools and practices in your work 

• Knowledge of modern software development practices: Such as unit tests, version control and continuous integration 

• English language skills: Excellent communication skills in English 

• Personal development: Strong desire to stay current with the latest technological advancements, and continuously improve your skills 

• Drive continuous improvement: You are proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement in existing applications and driving those changes through to completion.  

• Located near Helsinki: For this position we would prefer someone who could visit our office a few times per week. We are not open to help with re-location.

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience with:

  • Native mobile development for iOS or Android

  • Mobile development in general (React Native, Flutter etc.)

  • Cloud computing environments

• Finnish language proficiency
