Operations Specialist – Education Recruitment

Salary Competitive

Humly is revolutionising education with a digital marketplace that gives supply educators full control over their careers – and helps schools, nurseries, and children access great education instantly.

We’ve been doing it since 2015 – that’s why we’re the market leader in Sweden and have the most downloaded supply app in the UK.

To support our continued growth, we’re looking for an experienced Operations Specialist to join our North West team in Preston. This is a key role at the heart of what we do – matching educators with opportunities and ensuring both schools and staff receive outstanding service every time.

You’ll thrive here if you come from a recruitment background and want to bring your experience into a fast-paced, mission-led environment where every day matters.

Your Role in Humly

As an Operations Specialist, you’ll manage the full placement process – from urgent, same-day bookings to long-term and permanent roles. You’ll play a critical part in ensuring that supply educators are matched quickly and accurately, while maintaining Humly’s high standards of service and communication.

You’ll report to the Operations Team Leader and work closely with our Talent and Client Teams to deliver an exceptional experience for both schools and educators.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Match as many jobs as possible in the marketplace – with a focus on long-term and permanent roles

  • Handle same-day and advance booking requests from schools and nurseries

  • Follow up on matched roles to ensure smooth placements and upsell future opportunities

  • Guide new educators to their first bookings and provide consistent, high-quality support

  • Deliver proactive service calls and school visits to build trusted relationships

  • Sell our fantastic educators to current and potential clients

  • Support job volume targets and promote regional growth

  • Respond quickly to changing priorities with professionalism and pace

  • Collaborate with your team to solve challenges and scale success – the Humly way

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in recruitment is essential – either agency or in-house

  • A fast, proactive working style with strong organisational skills

  • Confidence managing clients and adapting under pressure

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Resilience – especially during the morning booking rush

  • A genuine passion for improving education and supporting others

  • Digital confidence – especially with CRMs and performance tracking

  • A full UK driving licence and access to a car – essential for school visits

What’s in It for You?

  • Salary: £29,000 – £37,500 per year

  • OTE: £33,000 – £50,000+ (uncapped performance bonus, paid monthly)

  • Location: Preston (Office-Based)

  • Hours: 07:15 – 17:00, with reduced working hours during school holidays

  • Work from home every Thursday

  • 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays

  • Private Medical Insurance

  • Ongoing coaching, structured development, and progression opportunities

  • A collaborative team culture where wins are shared and celebrated

Humly

We're empowering educators with total control in their hands and we’re helping the world to teach. We do this by revolutionising how schools and nurseries find the best educators. We do this by empowering educators with full-career control. And we do this because we must. Because by 2030, up to 69 million classrooms and nurseries won’t have a teacher. But with a push of a button, supply educators can find, choose, and book every job that fits them. With a push of a button, schools and nurseries can instantly and easily find educators. With a push of a button, we simplify, modernise, and improve education for everyone everywhere. And with a push of a button, we can help those 69 million classrooms and nurseries learn another day. In 2015, Kristoffer and Gustav, our Head of Product and CEO co-founded Humly in Gothenburg, Sweden. But before the C-Suite, they were college students and supply teachers, dealing with the same problems many face with agencies: the last-minute work calls, the calls that don’t come, the lack of power or say in your career, and so much more. So they built a home where educators are as important as the job itself. They built Humly, so educators can have the power to choose when, where, and how much they work – simply and easily, without hassle. They built Humly so every eligible educator can find the classroom and nursery that’s right for them.
