Your contribution as Backend Developer to our Emergency Worker Assistant (EWA) team will be crucial in shaping the future of Emergency Services.
The ideal candidate has a strong and proven track record in backend development. You should be familiar with a variety of tools and coding languages. You should have knowledge about modern infrastructure (Kubernetes) and containerization. Additionally, you should be able to communicate complex problems and translate needs and tasks to both business and junior employees. You should also be able to demonstrate previous work through a portfolio (e.g., GitHub).
Contribute to developing robust infrastructure and DevOps processes.
Create best practices and communicate benefits and implementation.
Translate functional requirements to technical specifications.
Mentor (junior) developers and lift those around you.
Innovate existing tools and develop new features.
Troubleshoot problems and contribute to structural improvements.
Generalist with a passion for learning, generous in sharing knowledge.
Willingness to adapt and adopt new technologies and methodologies.
Pro-active and pragmatic in solving problems.
Great communication both written and verbally.
Ability to deal with uncertainty and agile timelines.
Value good documentation.
Should be able to be security cleared (in Norway).
Fluent in Norwegian and English.
Strong knowledge of general-purpose programming language (e.g., C#, Python).
5+ years of experience in software development.
Experience with working with AWS, GCP, Azure, or other cloud vendors.
Experience with modern web frameworks.
Proven experience with container orchestration technologies (e.g., K8S).
The following are nice to have:
MSc in computer science, data science, engineering, or similar discipline.
Knowledge of a second programming language as Typescript or others.
The ideal candidate should be able to work from Oslo (NO) or Grimstad (NO). Hybrid options can be discussed.
