We are looking for a QPU Process Engineer to join our Packaging & Quality team, responsible for the development of fabrication processes for quantum chips. In this role, you will define one or multiple steps in the fabrication process while developing and optimizing techniques to enhance the quality of quantum chips. Your work will focus on achieving quantum advantage by improving coherence time, qubit uniformity, and signal routing capabilities.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge quantum technology and help shape the future of quantum computing.

What will I be doing?

  • Designing the experiment to develop and optimize packaging steps of QPU
  • Standardizing and implementing process improvement with production team.
  • Understanding the process window. Ensuring the unit process is fully characterized. Defining out-of-control action plans (OCAPs).
  • Document all the experiment design, changes and results.
  • Liaising with equipment engineers regarding to the equipment status, requirement, and concerns.
  • Liaising with other fabrication team members to increase the quality of products and process development.

What skills do I need?

  • Deep understanding of one or multiple steps in the fabrication process of quantum chips.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), design of experiment (DOE) and failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA).
  • Good technical communication skills: capable of describing the problem and solutions to audience with general understanding of the fabrication process, but no detailed knowledge of the problem.
  • Capability of independently design the experiments to develop one or multiple steps in the fabrication process from scratch or optimize the steps.
  • Capability to implement the experiment carefully to obtain consistent results.
  • Capability of working within a team: follow the safety rules, keep a traceable record of the work, respect other people’s work.
