Our mission-driven Quantum Hardware Integration team is seeking a Quantum Engineer specializing in Hardware Design and Implementation to help expand the frontier of scientific and technological progress. 

Join our team of experts working on the hardware implementation of superconducting quantum computing systems, collaborating closely with specialists in system hardware design, implementation, and integration. Your expertise in quantum computing hardware will make you a key contributor in designing next-generation systems and defining solutions that drive scalability and quality.

What will I be doing?

  • Core contribution for defining, choosing, and developing the hardware solutions for the next-generation quantum computers.
  • Contribution in designing selected subsystems such as QPU packages, mechanical solutions, or shielding solutions together with our specialists, such as mechanical and microwave engineers.
  • Reviewing proposed solutions related to the components, subsystems, and holistic system to ensure they support high-performance quantum computing.
  • Electrical and mechanical characterization of key components and subsystems.
  • Hands-on building, validating, and documenting new quantum computer prototypes.
  • Ensuring knowledge transfer to production and delivery teams to enable repeating the prototype performance in customer systems.
  • Ensuring the timely execution and reporting progress of R&D activities.


What skills do I need?

  • MsC in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical engineering, or other related fields (or demonstrated industry experience).
  • Good understanding and experience on the hardware of the superconducting quantum computers, including cabling, filtering, cryogenic and room temperature electronics, as well as cryostat infrastructure.
  • Knowing your way around in a laboratory environment.
  • Skills and passion for hands-on work with demanding hardware systems.
  • Capacity to produce high-quality documentation.

Nice to have:

  • Basic knowledge of design tools such as CAD tools for mechanical and electrical design and/or simulation tools (FEM, circuit simulation).
  • Experience in another quantum computing company.
  • Strong ability to work independently and proactively learn new concepts.
