As the Head of Technology you will drive the strategic direction for our technology infrastructure and data components, enabling us to scale and innovate while optimizing the product experience. As the Head of Technology, you will lead and manage the technology and data strategy for Hormona. You will be responsible for overseeing the development and optimization of our tech stack, ensuring that it supports our product vision and user experience. You will manage the engineering and data team while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including product management, marketing and sales to ensure that Hormona's technology and products are scalable, secure, and high-performing. Additionally, you will oversee data policies and governance, ensuring that data collection, analysis, and usage align with the highest standards for privacy, security, and accuracy.
Technology Strategy & Leadership: Define and lead the technology strategy to ensure scalability, security, and performance of Hormona’s tech stack, while actively contributing to its implementation and development.
Hands-On Development: Write, review, and optimize code for critical components of the platform, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and maintainable software solutions.
Build and Maintain Infrastructure: Design, implement, and maintain the app's backend systems, APIs, and database architecture to support real-time analytics, personalization, and seamless user experiences.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage data insights to inform business decisions, working directly with data pipelines and analytics tools to enable real-time insights and reporting.
Collaboration Across Teams: Work closely with the product, engineering, marketing, and data science teams to ensure seamless integration of technology solutions and data insights into the user experience.
Security & Compliance: Implement best practices for data security, privacy, and compliance with regulations such as HIPAA and GDPR, while coding robust security measures into the platform.
Data Governance: Establish data governance best practices, ensuring that data is accurate, reliable, and used responsibly across all teams.
Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor, debug, and improve system performance to ensure a fast and reliable experience for users.
Drive Technology Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies and frameworks, adopting and integrating them as necessary to keep the platform cutting-edge.
Mentor and Guide Team Members: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.
User Conversion Enablement: Collaborate with product and marketing teams to leverage data insights for optimizing user funnels and improving conversion rates from free to paid users.
Data Infrastructure Management: Build and maintain robust data pipelines, storage, and processing systems that enable effective use of analytics and machine learning for personalization and product improvements.
Ownership of Deliverables: Take full ownership of technical deliverables, ensuring they are delivered on time and align with strategic goals.
Proven experience (5+ years) in leading technology and data teams, ideally within the health or wellness industry, with a focus on mobile applications and data analytics.
5+years of experience working with NestJs (Typescript), React Native (Expo), GCP & postgreSQL
Strong expertise in managing data infrastructure, including data storage, analytics, and reporting tools (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, SQL, BigQuery, etc.).
Experience in utilizing data to drive decision-making, improve user engagement, and enhance product performance.
Familiarity with health data compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) and experience managing secure data operations.
Expertise in implementing data analytics and machine learning models to personalize user experiences and optimize business outcomes.
Experience in scaling technology platforms and ensuring they meet growing user demands and product innovations.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and ensure alignment across business units.
A data-driven mindset with the ability to extract actionable insights from complex datasets and communicate them clearly to stakeholders.
Ability to think strategically while maintaining a focus on practical execution, particularly in fast-paced environments.
Experience in SaaS, subscription-based, or mobile app business models.
Familiarity with women’s health trends, challenges, and opportunities in the digital health space.
Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience with A/B testing, experimentation frameworks, and optimization of user flows and conversion points.
Experience with Imagine processing reading and AI.
