Are you a natural-born organizer with a love for planning memorable experiences? Do you enjoy working behind the scenes to bring ideas to life and create community spirit? At DanSTAR, we’re looking for an Event Manager ensuring every milestone, from testing to liftoff, feels unforgettable.
Whether it's launching rockets or launching dance parties, you’ll be the spark behind the scenes that turns logistics into magic.
DanSTAR is Denmark’s premier student-run rocketry organization, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in student aerospace. From designing and building bi-liquid rockets to launching at the European Rocketry Challenge (EuRoC), we’re aiming high—literally.
With two successful launches, a 6.5 km world record apogee, and our latest rocket Fornax preparing for liftoff, we’re on a mission to revolutionize student aerospace in Denmark.
Our members come from DTU, CBS, ITU, and other institutions, united by a love of space and a drive to do what’s never been done before.
As Event Manager, you’ll join our young Operations Department and take the lead on planning, organizing, and executing DanSTAR’s internal and external events. Your work will be essential in supporting our engineering teams, growing our culture, and giving our members unforgettable experiences.
Here are just a few of the events you’ll be responsible for:
🧒 Summer Schools: Inspiring the next generation through hands-on activities like water rockets and intro-to-space workshops.
🔬 Serious Tests: Organizing everything from logistics to post-test celebrations when we push our systems to the limit.
🚀 Launch Days: Coordinating transportation, media, guests, and safety during the most exciting moments of the year.
🎉 Socials & Celebrations: From holiday parties to pizza Fridays — you’ll be the heartbeat of our student community.
🤝 Recruitment & Info Events: Showcasing DanSTAR to potential new members and collaborators.
And if you’ve got more ideas? Even better. The floor is yours.
We value initiative, creativity, and a strong sense of ownership. Whether you're a spreadsheet master or a detail-loving creative, we want someone who thrives on making things happen.
Requirements:
Based in Copenhagen with at least 1 year of studies remaining.
Strong interest in event planning, team coordination, or community-building.
Organized, proactive, and great at communicating across teams.
Able to commit 6–10 hours per week (more around major events, less during exams).
Willing to learn and work in a fast-paced, volunteer-driven environment.
Not afraid to throw on a spacesuit if the vibe calls for it (just kidding… or are we?).
Real-world project ownership in a dynamic, student-run rocket org.
Build your portfolio with tangible experience in event management.
Make lifelong friends and connections across disciplines.
Be part of something bigger — our launches, our legacy, and our laughter.
Access to DTU Skylab’s facilities and an ever-evolving event budget.
And yes, free coffee ☕.
If you’re excited about logistics, love planning meaningful experiences, and want to make DanSTAR the place where space dreams take off and come together, we’d love to hear from you!
Is this a paid position? Nope — DanSTAR is 100% student-run and volunteer-based. But the experience gained and the friendships made are priceless.
Can I write my thesis with DanSTAR? Yes! Many of our members align their academic work with DanSTAR projects, no matter what role they are recruited for.
Is the position remote? We require members to be on-site for key events, but some planning work can be done remotely.
Is prior experience necessary? Not at all. If you’re motivated and willing to learn, we’ll support you all the way.
