About the Role
As our User Experience & Frontend Lead, you’ll be our first dedicated UX and frontend expert, shaping how our users experience the Spoor platform. This role blends design leadership, frontend development, and user research, ensuring our platform is intuitive, engaging, and high-performing.

Over time, you’ll play a key role in growing our application development function, establishing best practices, and leading the charge on design and frontend technology choices.

What you’ll Do

💡 UX & Design Leadership

• Establish and champion UX best practices across the company.
• Define and maintain a design system and UI component library for consistency.
• Advocate for user-centered design, ensuring a balance between business needs and user experience.
• Educate and collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to embed UX into product development.
• Lead design critiques and usability testing sessions.

🖥️ Frontend Development

• Own the end-to-end UI development of our platform, ensuring accessibility, responsiveness, and performance.
• Collaborate with developers to bridge the gap between design and implementation.
• Optimize UI for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Define standards for frontend code quality, accessibility (WCAG), and performance.
• Reduce frontend technical debt while improving developer experience.

🔍 User Research & Product Discovery

• Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design decisions.
• Implement Jobs-To-Be-Done (JTBD) analysis to shape product features.
• Map out the user journey, identify pain points, and propose solutions.
• Advocate for a data-driven UX approach, integrating qualitative and quantitative research.

What we’re looking for

We think you’ll thrive in this role if you have:

• 4+ years of experience in frontend engineering and/or UX design.
• Deep understanding of user experience, UI design, and interaction design principles.
• Strong frontend development skills in React, TypeScript, CSS-in-JS, and modern frontend frameworks.
• Experience leading design systems and UI component libraries.
• A portfolio showcasing real-world impact on UX and frontend projects.
• Strong ability to communicate, educate, and advocate for user needs.
• Experience with user research, usability testing, and JTBD analysis.
• Familiarity with performance optimization, accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA), and scalable frontend architecture.
• A passion for creating meaningful, user-centric experiences

• Background in data visualization or analytics-heavy UIs.
