About the Team

Our Business Controlling Team provides critical financial insights and data-driven guidance to support strategic decision-making across the organization. We handle budgeting, forecasting, and deliver "actuals vs. budget" insights while contributing to monthly financial close processes. Our focus today is establishing good processes around operational and project forecasting and costs reviews and analysing our P&L, covering revenue, logistics, and overall financial health.

The team comprises three controllers with each assigned to specific departments. This role will specifically oversee Product division, where the team collaborates closely with strategic finance, accounting, the CFO’s office, and outsourced accounting partners.

Role Overview

As the Business Controller for Product division and NPD (New Product Development) covering early-stage innovation, through to product development and industrialization, you will be integral in bringing financial control and structure to our product operations and development projects. Reporting to the Head of Business Controlling, you will work cross-functionally to support financial processes for new product development from R&D to product development to go to market initiatives. You will serve as a financial steward ensuring alignment between budgets and objectives of the business and play an essential role in capital allocation decisions. Success in this role means establishing yourself as the finance point-of-contact for Product division, mastering our financial processes, and driving impactful financial controls.

Your responsibilities may include

• Financial Oversight for Product Development: Manage and support financial aspects of Product division and NPD, including project control, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for new product initiatives. Monitors spend against budgets and forecast cash flows across product/project milestones

• Track Financial Performance and Portfolio: Regularly monitor and report on the financial performance and strategic portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

• Develop and Enhance Control Processes: Establish, refine, and uphold robust financial control processes to support reliable and efficient reporting.

• Capital Allocation Support and R&D accounting: Assist in the capital allocation process by preparing and providing key financial inputs for informed prioritization decisions. Support classification and capitalization of development costs in line with IFRS. Coordinate with Tax to ensure proper treatment of any R&D credits/grants.

• Collaborative Business Reviews: Work closely with business owners to conduct financial reviews and ensure alignment with project and company objectives.

• Month-End Closing Participation: Play an active role in month-end closing, with responsibilities including cost allocation and provisions, to ensure accurate and complete financial records

• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with product development

• Process Improvement: Assist with standardizing financial tracking of new products and continuously improving reporting and forecasting accuracy

We are looking for the following experience

• Expertise in Budgeting, Forecasting, and Reporting: You possess in-depth knowledge and experience in managing these financial processes, with a proven track record of delivering finance-related advice and operational support for large and diverse product development programs.
• Proficiency in financial modelling and a strong analytical mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Process Implementation Skills: You excel in implementing new processes and driving continuous process improvements.
• You have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Business Controlling, along with 2-3 years of Project Controlling. You should have had exposure to project/product based companies
• A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, and/or a professional qualification in Management/Financial Accounting.
• Proficient in Excel/SAP and BI intelligence tools such as Tableau and power BI.
• Experience in Consumer Electronics/Tech is a plus but not a requirement.

With a structured approach, you can focus on both important details and the broader perspective. You are comfortable with your ability to handle rapid changes and to navigate when the map is not giving you all the answers. .

You are able to work independently, but are also a team player who knows when and how to involve a broader range of people to succeed with the task at hand.
