YOUR MISSION AT VOI
As Central Operations Manager (Workforce Management) you will focus on workforce flexibility-, shift planning-, and scheduling strategies and play a pivotal role in optimising the workforce operations by ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, scalability, adaptability and cost control in staffing and scheduling across all markets. In this role you will report to the Director of Central Operations and work cross-functionally in close collaboration and with the local- and central teams to analyse workforce utilization, aligning staffing levels with demand, drive strategic improvements in staffing models, scheduling, and overall workforce efficiency to ensure seamless execution of our operations. This will include:
Workforce Optimization & Scheduling:
- Develop and implement standardised workforce planning processes and work closely with the in-market teams to tailor strategies to local requirements while maintaining alignment with central goals
- Optimize scheduling processes to balance cost efficiency, compliance, and operational performance
Flexibility & Staffing Strategy:
- Design scalable staffing models and improve staffing flexibility by developing dynamic shift structures, cross-functional roles, and optimized scheduling methods
- Evaluate and implement solutions for balancing in-house and 3PL workforce models
- Support markets in contingency planning to ensure effective workforce allocation at all times, and develop and execute strategies to reduce reliance on temporary labor
Performance Analysis & Forecasting:
- Build and refine workforce performance dashboards and track key metrics to ensure productivity, engagement, and cost-effectiveness
- Leverage data to identify inefficiencies, forecast workforce demand, and drive actionable improvements
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with stakeholders to align on priorities, improve workforce deployment, and facilitate knowledge-sharing
Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
- Collaborate with the R&D team on identifying and implementing automations to reduce manual effort, increasing accuracy and accelerate data-driven improvements
- Stay ahead of industry trends and workforce innovations, integrating best practices, evaluate and introduce new staffing models, and drive initiatives to improve workforce satisfaction and retention while maintaining operational excellence
WHAT YOU NEED TO EMBARK
We’re looking for an analytical and structured problem solver, with a deep understanding of operational workforce dynamics, and the ability to collaborate and drive cross-functional strategic improvements in a fast-paced dynamic environment. In addition to this, we believe the right person has:
- A Bachelor or Master of Science degree in engineering, business, finance or similar
- Professional fluency in English
- 3-5 years experience from working hands-on with development, implementation and roll-out of standardisations across warehouse-, logistic- or industrial operations
- Experience in analysis of operational data, operational data-driven decision making and operational performance monitoring
- Experience from managing multiple projects, senior stakeholders and making hard prioritisations
