We're hiring a Senior Backend Engineer!

Videoly is a market-leading ecommerce content management platform. We’re on a path to become the global go-to content hub for online retailers and brands.

As part of our ambitious growth journey, we’re looking for a backend developer to join our team, preferably in Helsinki, but working from EMEA time zones will also be considered.

What you'll do

Videoly operates at the intersection of e-commerce automation and multimedia technology. We provide a platform that dynamically bridges product content with online retail ecosystems with the aim to enhance digital shopping experiences.

As a Senior Backend Engineer building the Videoly product, you'll be working on:

• Developing the best e-commerce content delivery platform that processes millions of data points daily

• Building our API ecosystem that integrates with digital asset management systems and e-commerce platforms

• Contributing to our automated video integration infrastructure that connects product videos to relevant PDPs across thousands of online stores

• Implementing performance analytics systems

• Ensuring tangible business outcomes for our customers

What you'll bring

Here’s what we’re looking for:

• 5+ years of experience in web development, including strong backend experience (Node.js/TypeScript/Next.js)

• Experience working with different databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch)

• Solid understanding of how distributed systems are built and web technologies in general

• Knowledge of application design, development patterns, and principles, along with the ability to apply them

• Experience and willingness to write automated tests

• Experience architecting applications on AWS infrastructure; knowledge of IaC tools is a big plus (Terraform, Terragrunt)

• Proficient English speaker

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify problems and their root causes

• Ability and willingness to take ownership

• A great team player who shares their work with teammates and collaborates to solve big problems

• A can-do attitude and eagerness to develop yourself
