Position summary

As the Distributor Manager, you will oversee and optimize Sooma’s global distribution network, ensuring that our partners are equipped with the knowledge, tools, and support necessary to drive sales and market expansion. This role will be responsible for identifying, onboarding, and managing distributor relationships while ensuring alignment with corporate sales and marketing strategies.

Key responsibilities:

Distributor relationship management:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all distribution partners, providing support across sales, marketing, and product training.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with distributors to ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize distributor sales performance and market penetration.
  • Facilitate communication between distributors and internal teams to ensure smooth operations and market feedback integration.

Business development:

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new distribution partners in selected markets to expand Sooma’s global reach.
  • Conduct due diligence and contract negotiations with potential distributors.
  • Develop and execute market-entry strategies for new distribution channels.

Education and training:

  • Design and deliver comprehensive training programs to ensure distributors have the necessary knowledge to effectively sell and support Sooma’s treatments.
  • Provide continuous education on product advancements, regulatory updates, and competitive positioning.

Market insights and feedback:

  • Gather and analyze feedback from distributors regarding product performance, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Communicate insights to product management and R&D teams to refine existing offerings and guide new product development.

Sales and marketing alignment:

  • Collaborate closely with internal sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure consistency in messaging and brand positioning.
  • Develop co-marketing initiatives with distributors to maximize visibility and sales impact.
  • Monitor distributor marketing efforts to ensure compliance with Sooma’s brand guidelines and market strategy.

Performance metrics and reporting:

  • Track and report on distributor performance, including sales targets and patient treatment numbers.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure distributor effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Present performance reviews and strategic recommendations to senior management.

Required skills and qualifications

Professional experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in channel sales or distributor management, ideally within the medical device or healthcare industry.
  • Proven success in developing and managing distributor networks to drive revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of international distribution models, regulatory compliance, and market access strategies.

Skills and competencies:

  • Excellent relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to adapt to different regional market dynamics.
  • Technical proficiency in medical devices and the ability to communicate complex product information effectively.
  • Data-driven decision-making capabilities using CRM tools, sales analytics, and forecasting methods.
  • Fluent in English; additional language skills are a big plus.

Other requirements:

  • Ability to travel internationally as required to meet with distributors and attend industry events.
  • Strong cultural awareness and ability to work effectively across different markets.
