Software Engineer Frontend/Full-Stack (Typescript & React)

Are you passionate about sustainability? Interested in how the food system works? Then FoodFacts is the right place for you! We are looking for a driven Software Engineer to join our team! 

FoodFacts powers the revolution towards a better food system. We make sustainability and health data accessible and actionable to the whole food ecosystem. Change in the food sector is essential as it’s the number one cause of biodiversity loss, responsible for up to 1/3 of our CO2 emissions and for the increase in diabetes and heart disease.

We’ve signed several big names in the food sector and supply data to most major food retailers in Sweden. We’re bootstrapped and grow with the increasing demand from our clients – no VC-style hypergrowth hire-and-fire!

Who is this role for?

You’ll be our first software engineer and you’ll be working closely with the CTO to shape the product and our technology. 

Talking to customers, caring about their problems and finding creative solutions is something that you actively seek out. Since we’re a small but growing startup, you enjoy working in a fast moving but always changing environment. You bring a project from planning, through implementation and user-testing to deployment.

Must have:

• 3+ years experience with React, Node.js, Typescript, Web UI development

• Strong user focus – You care about solving user problems, not only coding

• Working proficiency in English 

• A strong self-starter mindset

• An interest in sustainability

Bonus points for:

• Previous experience in a start-up environment 

• Experience with production monitoring tools and working with deployment pipelines (CI/CD) and automated testing

• Some knowledge of Swedish as our clients are Swedish companies

• An eye for design, UI & UX
