Marvin is seeking Deal originators to help us :

• Identify UK companies which are either Founder or Family owned and could be interested in a change of ownership (typically as part of a generational change)

• Acquire majority or 100% of the shares of the company based on executing “Deal Pie Strategies” thus minimising our upfront risk (executing leveraged buyouts)

• Install a new management team that autonomously continue to run the business post acquisition

Effectively - This is an invitation to join a hands-on Private Equity “School” - whereby real deals will get done!

Furthermore whilst this is an unpaid 4 months (extendable to 6 months) Internship, there is an opportunity to be recruited into the operating companies group structure at the end of the internship period should this be deemed appropriate (ie there is the prospect of a job offer for the right individual during the internship period - although this cannot be promised).

Time commitments from you?

”2 + 2”. Meaning you work 2 days per week (virtually) + 2 hours per week doing a deep dive into deals, deal status, deal progress, deal next steps, due diligence, etc one on one with Marvin (either via Zoom Conference call).

Effectively, Marvin will train you on how to be a deal junkie.

In return, you will be responsible for ”originating”  (sourcing) deals in the U.K. as well as preparing financial models to help stress test the covenants and liquidity pressures of any proposed deal structures alongside financiers.

Your work will be the basis for multi million GBP investments and we therefore expect you to take this internship seriously as your financial models will be presented to the credit committee's of large financial institutions in the U.K

We will provide you with templates for how we expect the financial models to be put together, but we expect that you already have basic knowledge around accounting and financial analysis.

Weekly 2 hour meetings via Zoom

The rest of the time you will be expected to work autonomously (post-training), although you will have access to 24/7 communication with Marvin

This 4 month (extendable to 6 month) Internship is ideal for current students studying economics, finance, or similar and who hope to have an eventual career in Venture Capital, Private Equity, or the like.

Preference will be given to candidates who are astute with numbers and who have successfully taken finance courses as part of their education.
