What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a hands-on and technically skilled Student Assistant to support our R&D team with prototyping, product testing, and technical development. This role is ideal for someone with experience in technical drawings, fabrication tools, and engineering processes, who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty.

This position also offers the opportunity to write your thesis in collaboration with Levitate, allowing you to combine practical experience with academic research.

Your Responsibilities

• Assist in research and development projects, including data collection, analysis, and documentation.

• Support rapid prototyping, assembly, and user testing of new designs.

• Work with 3D printing, laser cutting, and other fabrication tools to develop prototypes.

• Create and refine technical drawings and CAD models to support product development.

• Maintain organized records and contribute to technical reports and presentations.

• Collaborate with engineers and designers to refine and improve product designs.

What You Bring

• Hands-on experience in building, assembling, or crafting – this could be boat building, carpentry, metalwork, or other craftsmanship.

• Experience with 3D printing and laser cutting.

• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Fusion 360, CREO, or similar).

• Basic understanding of materials, mechanics, and prototyping techniques.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Ability to work hands-on in a lab or workshop environment.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.

• Fluency in English (spoken and written).
