Are you a software engineer with experience in financial calculations and data science?

While this role is primarily aimed at mid-to-senior-level professionals. We also encourage enthusiastic junior developers with relevant work experience to apply.

In Dreamplan we are on a mission to build a financial advisory platform that integrates with various data sources and delivers a financial prognosis over time, but also allows for optimization and adjustment of the users’ savings and economic decisions.

We are looking for a mathematical-minded developer, who can join us on this data science and calculation-focused software journey an emphasis on software development. We use various programming languages (Python, TypeScript and C#) and various tool sets with a focus on financial optimization, ML algorithms including neural networks, as well as REST APIs for building the numerical backend software. You’ll be joining a small startup on a mission. 

We want to help ensure ordinary people make the most of their hard-earned salaries. We want to understand our customers and their pain regarding financial planning, and we are passionate about helping them. 


Working at Dreamplan

  • Dreamplan was founded by Simon & Stine, who have many years of experience in successfully managing customer oriented innovative software development in the financial sector.

  • Philip is our Lead Data Scientist and holds a financial engineering degree from DTU. Now he works out of Lisbon in Portugal. He has +10 years experience with financial modeling and financial advisory systems.

  • We have a team of very smart front- and backend developers, financial advisors, designers, communication and marketing specialists and researchers who have developed our product

  • We don’t just say that we are agile. We continuously make small changes and test them. 

  • We received our financial advisory licenses from the Danish FSA in September 2022.

  • We embrace remote work, but you can also work from our office in Copenhagen.

  • There are social events both company-wide and in the calculation and data science team, and we try to meet in person when possible.

  • We speak English in the team and that is our business language.


What we are looking for

  • You have a few years of experience as a software engineer

  • You probably have a background in Mathematical Modelling and Computation, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Actuarial Mathematics or similar

  • You have experience with financial calculations

  • You have solid understanding of mathematics

  • You get energy from building and improving the algorithms and functionality which feed into our customer-facing web experience 

  • You can collaborate in cross-domain teams (e.g. financial advisors, frontend and business)

  • Work autonomously and take ownership on specific features

  • Experience with C# or another OOP language and at least one of the following: Python and TypeScript

Hiring Process:

  • We expect to conduct 3 interviews prior to hiring; 20 min intro, 45-1h technical interview and 1 hour culture fit

  • The technical interview will consist of you showing and explaining some of your code and experiences, and we will provide a deeper insight into the job, day to day work and tech stack
