The Opportunity: Data Scientist Intern

We’re looking for a Data Scientist Intern who’s eager to dive into machine learning, large language models (LLMs), and data engineering in a fast-moving SaaS startup. You’ll work directly with our experienced CTO and founding team, contributing to cutting-edge projects while gaining hands-on experience with real-world data challenges.

This is a unique opportunity to make a real impact while learning the ropes of applied data science in a startup environment.

Key responsibilities

• Machine learning development: Assist in building, refining, and deploying LLMs and machine learning models for tasks such as automation, data classification, NLP, and matching.

• Data pipeline engineering: Help design and maintain scalable data pipelines for processing data from email and bank connections.

• Data analysis & visualization: Contribute to creating data models, interpreting results, and visualizing insights for both internal use and customer reporting.

• Collaboration: Work closely with the product and engineering teams, participating in brainstorming sessions, product feedback, and data-driven decision-making.

• Innovation & research: Stay updated on emerging data science techniques, exploring how they can be applied to enhance our platform.

• Product contribution & ownership: Take an active role in shaping what our product will be capable of and how it will evolve. Contribute ideas and insights for new features, ensuring the data science capabilities align with our business goals and customer needs.

• Compliance & data security: Support the team in ensuring GDPR compliance and high data security standards.

What we’re looking for

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with data science libraries such as Pandas, Scikit-learn, FastAPI, TensorFlow, or similar.

• Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).

• Familiarity with building and applying large language models (LLMs) for tasks such as natural language processing, classification, or data extraction.

• Interest in working with real-world datasets, including financial and business data.

• Eagerness to learn, contribute, and collaborate in a fast-paced startup environment.

• Curiosity, problem-solving mindset, and a passion for continuous learning.
