Key Account Store Operations Specialist

Salary Competitive

At Too Good To Go, we have an ambitious mission: to inspire and empower everyone to fight food waste together.

More than 1/3 of all food produced in the world is wasted. And that has a huge impact on the health of our planet. 10% of greenhouse gas emissions come from food waste and loss.

Through our marketplace app, we connect businesses that have unsold, surplus food, with consumers who can buy and enjoy it at ⅓ of retail value. We are a certified B Corporation with a mission to empower everyone to take action against food waste. Alongside our marketplace app, we create educational tools, explore new business solutions, and influence legislation to help reduce food waste.

We’re growing fast: Our community of 84 million registered users and 208,000 active partners across 19 countries, have together already saved 350 million meals from going to waste - saving almost 707,000 tonnes of CO2e!

Too Good To Go was named in FastCompany’s March 2022 list of the World's Most Innovative Companies, and was honoured to be included in TIME’s list of the 100 Most Influential Companies of 2022.

Your Role

As the new Key Account Store Operations Specialist, reporting to the Head of Key Accounts in Portugal, you will play a pivotal role in engaging and retaining stores, improving their performance, and maximising food saved.

You will also drive collaborations with charitable organizations, ensuring surplus food can be redistributed efficiently to those in need, while supporting stores to embrace donation processes and maximize impact.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Store Relationship Management: You will manage and engage key partners through phone, email, and occasional on-site visits (approximately 1 day/month). Your focus will be on building long-term relationships, understanding partner needs, and delivering tailored recommendations.
  • Performance and Retention Optimization: You will track and analyse KPIs to proactively address challenges, identify churn risks, and highlight supply opportunities. You will implement strategies to maintain high retention rates while optimising the amount of food saved.
  • Charity Donations Coordination:
    • Act as a key contact for charitable organizations to develop partnerships for surplus food redistribution.
    • Train stores on the donation process, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and operational efficiency.
    • Establish donation agreements that provide clear benefits for all stakeholders, aligning with Too Good To Go's mission.

  • Data-Driven Action: By analysing store and donation performance data, you will generate insights and create actionable recommendations. You will identify ways to optimise food redistribution through donations or consumer sales.
  • Customer and Partner Experience: You will provide an exceptional experience to stores, charitable partners, and users while representing the Too Good To Go values and tone of voice.

  • Experience working with charitable organizations, including knowledge of donation processes, benefits, and operational agreements.
  • Strong commercial acumen and communication skills, with the ability to build long-term relationships with store stakeholders and charity partners.
  • A data-driven mindset with the ability to extract insights, present findings clearly, and use data to drive decisions and performance improvements.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, collaborating with internal teams to support strategies that grow key partner engagement.
  • Proactive and adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced scale-up environment.

It's a sad state of affairs and we're on a mission to inspire and empower everyone to take action! Our platform allows people to buy surplus, unsold food from restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, bakeries etc. that otherwise would have to be thrown out.
