We are now hiring for a newly created position: a Materials Engineer who can explore the limitless possibilities of elastomeric materials and contribute to our mission of transforming the industry.
In this role, you will work closely with other developers, product teams, and engineering teams to discover, test, and create new types of sustainable and recyclable materials and material blends for tyre production. You will collaborate with a range of partners who have significant resources for material development and testing.
You will also have great oportunity to build and grow the materials area intenally such as assisting in building up tool-parks and lab facilities.
This is an on-site job based in Ski, Norway. Our company language is english.
Developing and researching new elastomeric materials, including TPEs.
Collaborating with suppliers and partners to source high-quality materials.
Utilizing relevant test methods such as DMA, DSC and even custom product testing equipment, and characterize and validate material performance.
Managing testing protocols and defining specification requirements.
Working closely with R&D and cross-functional engineering teams to integrate new materials into production.
Documenting the lifecycle of materials.
Performing chemical analyses.
Maintaining material safety databases and procedures for safe material handling.
Take part in building and growing the materials area internaly such as defining best practices, build up labratory equipment and tool-park.
Leading collaborative projects with external partners for material development and testing.
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in material technology, chemistry or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in material research, preferrably within an business organization.
Proven experience working with a variety of elastomers.
Expertise in material testing and analytical tools.
Experience with material compositions and material development.
Is innovative with a passion for material science and sustainability.
Is detail-oriented and precise.
Sees challenges as opportunities rather than problems.
Works well both independently and in cross-functional teams.
Has a strong drive for development and research.
Possesses excellent project management skills and can manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Has strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
