Your Mission
Mercell’s Trust & Security team is seeking someone to help expand the security operations area. This role will focus on strengthening the existing security landscape while leading new, greenfield initiatives and projects, including EDR, VPN/SASE, PAM, MDR/SIEM, and the implementation of benchmarks and standards, in collaboration with the Enterprise IT team.

Core Responsibilities 

• Delivery of the technical security roadmap, working on VMDR, EDR, VPN/SASE, PAM, and MDR/SIEM.
• Provide development and advanced support for Corporate IT Infrastructure.
• Contribute to security training initiatives, such as phishing drills and the SETA programme, in collaboration with other teams.
• Develop and validate Corporate IT incident response, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery plans.
• Write and maintain operational security documentation

Required Qualifications

• Ability to design and implement effective security controls and processes to safeguard IT infrastructure.
• Proficiency in establishing, implementing, managing a SIEM/MDR
• Skilled in coordinating and leading responses to security incidents, including containment, eradication, and recovery.
• In-depth understanding of firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection platforms.
• Experience with IAM and access control.
• Familiarity with security standards and frameworks like ISO 27001, SOC 2, C5, CIS, NIST, and GDPR to ensure organizational compliance.
