We are seeking a Quantum Service Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the performance of our advanced quantum computing systems. This role directly contributes to the evolution of quantum computing technology by ensuring stable, reliable operations for our global clientele.
What will I be doing?
- Ensuring the continuous availability and optimal performance of quantum computing systems, including cloud-based, customer-deployed, and internal systems.
- Performing initial system calibrations, routine tune-ups, and debugging as needed.
- Coordinating software updates, executing calibration tasks, and independently resolving technical issues.
- Collaborating closely with R&D teams, providing actionable feedback on usability, bug fixes, and new developments as a first-hand user of quantum systems.
- Planning and executing service tasks, maintaining schedules, and improving related documentation to streamline workflows.
- Supporting internal R&D teams, customers, and future external services with technical expertise.
- Sharing feedback and proposing improvement ideas to the development teams to enhance system performance and usability.
What skills do I need?
- A Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field (a Ph.D. is a strong advantage).
- Proficiency in Python or similar programming language.
- Proven experience in technical service, maintenance, or engineering roles, ideally in high-tech or quantum environments.
- A solid understanding of quantum computer operations and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and interaction with clients.
- Ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing company priorities, with specific tasks agreed upon with your line manager.
