Upper Plate is building an AI-powered web app designed to help restaurants combat food waste by transforming kitchen side streams into sustainable menu items. Through innovative upcycling and fermentation techniques, we enable restaurants to increase efficiency, lower their carbon footprint, and convert waste into value.

Role Overview

We’re seeking a talented freelance Full-Stack Developer to support the development of our AI-driven platform. Working closely with our founding team, you’ll help bring the Upper Plate platform to life. This is a hands-on project with an exciting mission to drive real-world change in food sustainability, with potential for ongoing collaboration as we scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Platform Development: Assist in the end-to-end development of the Upper Plate platform, from design and architecture to deployment, making our AI-driven upcycling tool functional and user-friendly.

• AI Integration: Work with our team to integrate key AI features, such as recipe suggestions and waste tracking.

• Scalability & Performance: Build the platform with scalability and efficiency in mind to ensure it meets the needs of restaurants of all sizes.

• Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the founding team to align tech deliverables with our mission and project milestones.

Requirements

• Background: We’re looking for an experienced full-stack developer comfortable with building projects from scratch.

• Tech Skills: Proficiency in relevant technologies for web development, AI/ML integration, and cloud infrastructure.

• Problem-Solving Mindset: Adaptable, resourceful, and driven to find creative solutions in a startup environment.

• Passion for Sustainability: Interest in food tech and sustainability is a plus.
