Sunday Power’s mission is to accelerate the energy transition with smart renewable energy. Our ambition is to be the world’s most efficient company in originating, deploying, and operating solar PV assets and other renewable solutions for commercial real estate. We’re using this position to build great software that solves real needs and offer it as a stand-alone product.

We are a small but dedicated team (currently 15 people) working out of our brand-new offices in central downtown Oslo. We’re very proud of what we’ve achieved so far:

We’re looking for an AI Data Platform Engineer

At Sunday Power we collect a lot of data. We think our most important innovations will come from finding ways to use that data to build new products. We’re looking for someone with the skillset to make value from data - find important insights for our business, identify when maintenance should be carried out, run machine learning algorithms safely in production all year.

As our new AI Data Platform Engineer you’d work on

• identifying new opportunities from our data, and bringing them to life

• developing our portfolio of reports, alarms and anomaly detections and ensure they’re healthily in production

• building software to orchestrate and optimize our portfolio of solar plants, batteries and other units to deliver new services to the power market and grid operators

To succeed, we believe you match the following

• 2+ years of experience with data science, machine learning, backend or data engineering

• Python skills!

• looking for a role where you can work end-to-end with data - from idea to production at scale

• team player with good communication skills

• You are based in Oslo, or willing to move here from the EU

Bonus points for experience with

• IoT, industrial, electrical or power market data

• backend or infrastructure development

• working in startups

• a university degree

• related domain knowledge - solar, batteries, EV, power markets, proptech

What we’re building

Today our tech team consists of our CPO, CTO and four developers. We enjoy working together on building things that matter, using the technology we think makes most sense.

We deliver technology that accelerates the green transition. Sometimes that means identifying and buying the right thing, sometimes we build it ourselves. So far we’ve built

• SundayOS - our own SaaS-platform for monitoring and optimizing solar assets

• SundayBox - our very own IoT edge computer

• our very own data platform

We’ve built this using tech like

• AWS cloud platform

• F# for backend development

• Typescript (React, Node, TanStack, shadcn)

• Python, pandas, Databricks

The solar market is new, and rapidly evolving. We need to develop with, or ahead, of it - so there will be new things to build here for a long time!

We build technology both for ourselves to manage our own assets, but we also sell it to other companies. We think this is one of the thing that sets us apart from the competition, and ensures we deliver great tech that does what people need.
