Sunday Power’s mission is to accelerate the energy transition with smart renewable energy. Our ambition is to be the world’s most efficient company in originating, deploying, and operating solar PV assets and other renewable solutions for commercial real estate. We’re using this position to build great software that solves real needs and offer it as a stand-alone product.
We are a small but dedicated team (currently 15 people) working out of our brand-new offices in central downtown Oslo. We’re very proud of what we’ve achieved so far:
We have signed and deployed more than 70 large scale solar plants across Norway
Raised more than 100MNOK of capital
Top Finalist European Proptech Awards 2024
But this is just the beginning, and this is an exciting time to join us as we’re taking our company even further. In addition to an IoT Engineer, we’re also looking for the following;
AI Data Platform Engineer
Full-stack Developer
Backend Developer
As our IoT Engineer you’d work on all our IoT needs. We have our own edge-computer, SundayBox, that collects data from our sites and lets us control inverters. There’s still a lot more we want to do with it, and we’re currently investing heavily in making the whole pipeline more scalable. The addition of new units, like batteries and EV-chargers, will also require new developments.
As our IoT Engineer you’d work on some, or all, of
development of our current, and future, versions of SundayBox
rolling out and managing a fleet of edge computers
integrating our tech with new hardware brands, and new types of units
supply chain for our edge computing needs
To succeed, we believe you match the following
2+ years of experience with hardware, backend or infrastructure software development
interest in managing portfolios of units - edge computers, servers, infrastructure
enjoy working on an end-to-end product involving hardware, software and cloud infrastructure
willing to be hands-on with product rollout and implementation in the field
excited about working with cutting-edge renewable energy technologies
You are based in Oslo, or willing to move here from the EU
Bonus points for experience with
professional, or hobby, hardware development or design
system administration
building (or other) automation tech and protocols
working in startups
a university degree
related domain knowledge - solar, batteries, EV, power markets, proptech
Today our tech team consists of our CPO, CTO and four developers. We enjoy working together on building things that matter, using the technology we think makes most sense.
We deliver technology that accelerates the green transition. Sometimes that means identifying and buying the right thing, sometimes we build it ourselves. So far we’ve built
SundayOS - our own SaaS-platform for monitoring and optimizing solar assets
SundayBox - our very own IoT edge computer
our very own data platform
We’ve built this using tech like
AWS cloud platform
F# for backend development
Typescript (React, Node, TanStack, shadcn)
Python, pandas, Databricks
The solar market is new, and rapidly evolving. We need to develop with, or ahead, of it - so there will be new things to build here for a long time!
We build technology both for ourselves to manage our own assets, but we also sell it to other companies. We think this is one of the thing that sets us apart from the competition, and ensures we deliver great tech that does what people need.
Sunday Power is still young, but with a proven track record and high ambitions, we aim to be the very best at what we do. By joining Sunday Power you will not only become a part of a fantastic and highly skilled team, but you also enter a startup that is truly making a difference in the world.
Our working culture is Nordic - we have a flat hierarchy where everyone is encouraged and expected to participate in discussions about the direction and strategy of the company.
We recently moved into brand new offices in central Oslo - with a coffee machine that gives more than great coffee, free lunch (typical Norwegian style) that we eat together in our kitchen, and a rooftop terrace on the 9th floor, where we like to take our Friday beers to celebrate the end of the week.
To sum it all up with this role we offer you:
The chance to be part of a once-in-a-lifetime startup journey
To join a passionately driven and caring team
Competitive remuneration, that includes a combination of base salary + stock options
Super-central downtown Oslo locations in new office space (with rooftop terrace)
Free lunch and great coffee!
Free choice of laptop and cell phone
Joining Sunday Power at this point is a huge opportunity to be part of something bigger, together with a team of passionate people.
