What You’ll Be Doing

As a Backend Developer at Klaay, you’ll be at the core of our mission to build a cutting-edge SOC2/ISO27001 compliance platform from the ground up. You'll collaborate closely with our CTO, founders, and the development team to design, develop, and optimize backend services that are robust, scalable, and secure. Your role will be crucial in shaping the architecture that powers our platform, ensuring it delivers top-notch performance and security.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs that will form the backbone of our SOC2/ISO27001 compliance platform.

• Partner with the frontend team to ensure seamless integration between frontend and backend systems.

• Architect secure and scalable data storage solutions, ensuring performance remains top-tier even as we scale.

• Take ownership of system performance, troubleshooting and optimizing as needed to keep everything running smoothly.

• Lead by example in code reviews, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality code.

• Work closely with our founders, CTO, and fellow developers to align backend development with business goals and technical strategy.

• Stay ahead of the curve by keeping up with the latest trends in backend development, and share your knowledge with the team.

Who You Are

• Experience: 3+ years of backend development experience with a strong command of Ruby on Rails.

• Technical Guru: Proficient in building RESTful APIs, microservices, and managing databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL.

• Cloud Savvy: Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (preferably Google Cloud) and cloud-based services.

• Security-Minded: Strong understanding of security best practices, with experience in SOC2/ISO27001 or similar compliance frameworks being a big plus.

• Problem-Solver: Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex systems.

• Collaborative: Excellent communication skills and a team-first mindset, ready to contribute and lead where needed.
