Student Sustainability Analyst

Salary Competitive

We are looking for a Student Sustainability Analyst to join our journey

Location: Copenhagen | Apply by: September 15th | Start date: ASAP | Part-time 10-15 hrs./week

Do you want to be a part of shaping more sustainable and inclusive cities? Home.Earth is looking for a student sustainability analyst with an analytical and technical background to become a part of our mission to redefine the future of real estate.

Real estate and the urban environment have a profound impact on all of us. We spend 90% of our lives inside buildings. And by 2050 almost 70% of us will live in cities. The built environment enables life, community, and culture. But at the same time, it fosters loneliness and health issues. It counts for almost 40% of global energy-related CO2 emissions. It is the biggest living expense for most people. And nowhere is growing inequality more visible than in how we live.

Home.Earth is a B-Corp certified real estate company founded in 2021 to chart a path towards more environmentally and socially sustainable urban development. Our first development project, 158 homes in Høje Taastrup, is on track to achieve the lowest carbon footprint for a multi-story residential building in Denmark.

The role

As our new student analyst, you will become a part of our sustainability team and get hands-on experience with how to integrate sustainability in building design, construction and operations. We work with circular construction, conscious material choices, carbon transparency and LCA, and innovation in areas like renewable on-site energy creation, modular construction, generative design, and more.

Your responsibilities:
You will support the integration and reporting of our impact, which includes:

  • Research, collect data, and update our Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) for our projects from early design phases to final audit
  • Participation in workshops and development of tools to assess our impact on circularity
  • Update and support our sustainability toolbox for project development
  • Track impact indicators in our project developments and existing assets
  • Support Home.Earth’s broader sustainability work across construction, operations and decarbonization

Qualifications we hope you bring

  • Enrolled in higher education in an analytical and/or technical programme with a focus on sustainability and innovation.
    • For example, architectural-, civil-, or energy engineering, architectural technology and construction management, sustainable construction/design, etc.
  • 2-3 years left of your studies
  • A good understanding of LCA and energy consumption
  • Knowledge of Danish building regulations and DGNB certification
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and the Adobe Suite – it’s a bonus if you know the basics of coding and BIM (Building Information Modelling)
  • An entrepreneurial and independent approach to problem-solving
  • Interest in sustainability and construction
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of your projects
  • A confident and proactive approach to help you thrive in a startup culture
  • Motivation to work with sustainability and social impact
  • Good communication skills in English

What we offer

  • The opportunity to become a part of a purpose-driven company
  • Hands-on experience with sustainable design and construction methods, LCA calculations, impact measurement, etc.
  • A collaborative and dynamic work environment with a passionate team

You will be working closely alongside Dan Pham, Kasper Guldager and Jesper Kort Andersen. Meet our entire team at Home.Earth – who bring experience from companies like COWI, Lejerbo, The Danish Social Investment Fund, GXN, McKinsey, NREP and more!

How to apply

Real estate and the urban environment have a profound impact on all of us We spend 90% of our lives inside buildings. And by 2050 almost 70% of us will live in cities. The built environment enables life, community and culture. But at the same time, it fosters loneliness and health issues. It counts for almost 40% of global CO2 emissions. It is the biggest living expense for most people. And nowhere is growing inequality more visible than in how we live. To overcome the challenges of population growth, climate change, growing inequality and social unrest, we need to move to a more conscious and responsible version of capitalism. A version that is market-based, but with equal priority for all stakeholders and with long-lasting impact. We are a European real estate company setting out to develop urban communities with inclusivity, liveability and sustainability at its core. We do not have all the answers yet, but we aspire to join forces with likeminded investors and partners – we are a team with the motivation, experience and ambition to be a pathfinder on this journey. We are Home.Earth
