We are on the lookout for a talented Senior PHP Engineer.

Is this you?

As a Senior PHP Engineer in the App team at Monta, you will closely collaborate with our frontend engineers, QA’ers, and backend developers from our other engineering teams. Your responsibilities will include scoping, implementing, and maintaining high-quality APIs for our mobile and web applications. Your focus will be on delivering high quality code, tests and architectural improvements to our systems, and help shape the future of our comprehensive backend system. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of internal tools and improve the scalability of our services.

Tools and technologies you’ll use

You’ll be working with a fairly modern stack, and while we don't expect you to know everything about it, you should be comfortable learning new tech. Our tools include Kotlin (Java 17 and closely following updates), Micronaut (microservice framework), Dart and Flutter, Typescript and ReactJS, AWS Cloud, Docker, GitOps, Kubernetes, MySQL/Redis (database), Prometheus (monitoring), Grafana (dashboard/metrics), Loki (logging), and more!

• Implement APIs in PHP for new features in close collaboration with the mobile frontend developers.
• Improve the quality of our existing APIs and features.
• Shape the future of our mobile APIs, in alignment with other product- and engineering teams.

Requirements

• Have at least 5 years of professional experience in a relevant field.
• Have strong proficiency in PHP 8.x & Laravel.
• Have good communication, feedback and collaboration skills.
• Have expertise in building RESTful APIs and familiarity with Open API 3.x (nice to have).
• (Nice to have) Have experience with Java and Spring/Springboot or Kotlin and Micronaut.
• (Nice to have) Knowledge of Kafka and event-driven technologies.
