Flexible start date in September/October. As a Backend Software Developer you will lead the development and delivery of our key backend components and get to:

• Work on a IoT solution that is deployed to over 200 locations worldwide with over 30,000 devices and growing fast. Our product ecosystem ranges from smart devices to mobile applications.

• Take charge of our backend services consisiting of our IoT backbone (MQTT, Kafka, Clickhouse, Hasura, PostgreSQL), and our web infrastructure (AWS, Vercel, Docker, Rust, Typescript, NodeJS).

• Collaborate with a passionate team to plan, architect, and implement the core infrastructure that takes Valpas forward.

• Nurture individual growth and innovation. As we expand our business, you'll also have many opportunities to grow professionally.

• Depending on your interests, you can also dive into other aspects of our product, such as firmware development, data science, and machine learning.

Key responsibilities

• Hands-on building of challenging backend production components, infrastructure, and core functionalities.

• Collaborate on feature definition & planning with the product team.

• Rollout & monitor your code in production for the best customer experience.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including system outages, bottlenecks, and performance challenges.

• Analyze and enhance efficiency, scalability, and stability of backend system components.

• Work with Cloud systems, Web technologies, and Testing methodologies.

Technical skills

• AWS, Vercel, Aiven, TypeScript, Node, Rust, Docker, PostgreSQL, Hasura and Clickhouse

• System design
