PriAlgae is a startup with the aim of making a positive difference in the world via microalgae and macroalgae. I am looking for a co-founder or trainee who has one of the following backgrounds: Engineer in biotechnology, biotechnologist, engineer in chemistry or a PhD researcher. Maybe you are a student, or maybe you have years of experience. The most important fact is that you want to join me on a biotech adventure.

What is the idea and concept behind PriAlgae? We will use the latest innovation and create sustainable products with algae:

• Pure algae oil to replace vegetable oil and fish/krill oil.

• Various proteins and enzymes from algae to replace, for example, plant protein, animal proteins and fish proteins.

• Natural fertilizer for agriculture instead of synthetic fertilizers.

• To feed algae with CO2 from the atmosphere and thereby extract pure oxygen from the process.

• Consider the latest technology with different methods for wastewater treatment with algae.

• Consider developing energy storage from the production process, thereby becoming self sufficient and sustainable.

• The possibilities are many and we will focus together on developing an MVP start-up product.

  
  

I am looking for a co-founder who:

• Loves the idea of ​​working with microalgae and macroalgae.

• Has in-depth knowledge of, or will be able to obtain knowledge of how to extract various enzymes, lipids, proteins and fatty acids from microalgae and macroalgae. By working in depth to map cultivation and extraction methods, we can get the right guidance from current network within high tech solutions.

• Has in-depth knowledge of working with plant cells.

• Has in-depth knowledge or can get in-depth knowledge of how to influence different algae species with nutrient salts, CO2, gases, temperature changes and exposure to solar radiation to optimize algae strands and cultivation.

• Can imagine a company without limits, only with the possibility of growth and expansion.

• Can participate in summarizing and translate knowledge into practice from scientific articles.

• Has access to laboratories. Otherwise, we may seek funding to access laboratory facilities.

Why PriAlgae and what do I bring to the table?

My name is Sanella Wilken and i live north of Copenhagen in Denmark. I will be a passionate female partner who has experience with start-ups. I see opportunities where others see limitations, and I have a great passion for nature, sustainability and bioethics. For the last two years I have been working in an NGO. Here I have gained experience with fundraising, SoMe management and team management/recruitment. I have gained an in-depth understanding of what it takes to start a business from scratch. Through my previous jobs I have worked close with people. One of my strengths is that I am good at socializing and good at networking. Through my own previous company, I have acquired a basic legal understanding necessary to run a business. I have participated in several innovation projects and have gained experience within innovation processes. I have built up a network that are ready to advise the company and help with good contacts abroad. In addition, I am in dialogue with various universities in Denmark.

This summer I am participating in the Algae4IBD Summer School at the Algarve University of Marine Science in Portugal via the EU. On this university course, I will work with laboratory tests and I will gain first-hand knowledge of the latest research and opportunities within microalgae, macroalgae and cyanobacteria. The vision of PriAlgae started two years ago, and now PriAlgae is being manifested into reality. Entrepreneurship is my passion and I live for new ideas and projects.
