Head of Program for Station Academy (volunteer)

Salary Unpaid

Station, the non-profit student innovation house, is looking for a committed Head of Program for our developing Station Academy project. We're looking for someone who is engaged, motivating, and eager to learn. This is a volunteer (unpaid) position for 6 months - from August to January.

What is Station Academy?

A learning program dedicated to upskilling students and graduates in the areas that aren't typically addressed in traditional education settings. Through expert-led workshops, we offer hands-on experiences in topics ranging from handling stress to project management. Beyond just skill development, Station Academy fosters a community of curious and engaged learners eager to make an impact in their professional and personal lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop concrete project scope and objectives for the upcoming academic semester and year.

  • Onboard and coordinate a team of volunteers to run the program.

  • Identify opportunities for growth and develop strategies to drive the project's development.

  • Collaborate with the core Station team to implement project-related initiatives and strategies.

What's in it for you?

  • Take the lead in shaping and executing a developing initiative.

  • Gain practical experience in project management, leadership, and strategy implementation.

  • Expand your professional network by connecting with diverse individuals and organizations.

  • Guidance from our team at Station, experienced in all things youth-driven.

  • Work from our inspiring office space - a repurposed police station in Frederiksberg, offering a creative environment that fuels innovation.

  • And last but not least, become part of a vibrant community that values fun, innovation, and impact. We might not offer a paycheck, but we promise you a rich, rewarding experience that will pay dividends in your future career.

What we're looking for:

  • Strong leadership and planning skills to effectively coordinate the team and the project activities.

  • A genuine passion for the mission of Station Academy, with a proactive and motivated approach to tasks.

  • The ability to commit at least 8 hours per week to the project, with higher time commitment at the term's beginning.

  • Previous project coordination experience is advantageous, but not essential; we value dedication and drive.

  • Availability in Copenhagen in August for onboarding and recruitment of the rest of the team.

We are excited to find someone who shares our vision and is ready to lead Station Academy. If you're keen on making a difference while gaining valuable experience, we'd love to hear from you!

Submit your application (CV and a brief motivation) here on The Hub. EDIT: The application deadline is Sunday, June 30th. The interviews will take place in the weeks 28 and 29.

Roles at the bottom of the page! We are an interdisciplinary community of students and recent graduates, who: 1. create the most thriving crossdisciplinary student community 2. empower students through hands-on programmes and projects about sustainability, innovation and entrepreneurship, and 3. engage in collaborations with the private, public and civic sector. Station is a non-profit volunteer foundation dedicated to youth communities, well-being promotion, and empowering students. Our mission is to create meaningful and inclusive communities that allow students from across the country's higher education institutions to transform their engagement, curiosity, and ideas into positive change for themselves and the world. We are located in the former Frederiksberg police station at Howitzvej 30, which, following extensive renovation funded by support raised by students themselves, now serves as a modern hub for activities and innovation for students and graduates. Station is a meeting point for young people, students, and graduates who wish to participate in new and meaningful value-driven communities, challenge themselves in their fields, and be inspired by new mindsets and perspectives. Each year, we welcome over 50,000 visitors to our house, representing a diverse range of students and graduates with varying expertise, nationalities, and cultures. We serve as the nexus for approximately 250 regular members, 24 student organizations, and 100 volunteers annually, who engage through our ongoing volunteer initiatives, learning programs, and over 60 yearly activities. Station is operated by a professional secretariat that carries out tasks related to e.g. community building, project management, event management, communications, fundraising, business development, partnerships, and more. By collaborating closely with volunteers and student initiatives, we work to ensure transparency and cross-collaboration within our community and organisation, where our members, volunteers and visitors are the heart of our organisation and at the forefront of our movement.
