Salary Competitive

Senior Software Engineer (Backend Focus)

MazeMap aims to build the future of indoor navigation, and we need top software engineers to achieve this ambition. We are a SaaS company founded in Trondheim in 2013, and recognized as the global market leader for indoor mapping and wayfinding for the university sector. We operate in the hospital and corporate sectors as well.

Using an in-house developed tool, we create high-quality indoor maps from floor plans, enabling features like wayfinding and resource management for large complex buildings worldwide. As we scale our customer base in the coming years, we want to be at the forefront of map creation with a smarter interface and greater automation using machine learning.

Join us if you're passionate about improving positioning accuracy, user experience, and building powerful features that impact a growing user base of over 3.5 million people monthly. Challenge accepted?

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to design and implement functional software solutions. To us, this means that you have at least 7 years of industry experience after graduating with a Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or similar; are organized and structured, and able to work independently. A strong background in software development and familiarity with agile methodologies are essential, as well as the passion to solve interesting technical challenges. This will involve analyzing requirements, designing robust architectures and interfaces, writing efficient and modular code, and conducting thorough testing.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will have the responsibility to drive projects forward, mentor junior team members, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. By delivering innovative and reliable software, you will contribute to the success of our organization and make a meaningful impact in the industry!

There are opportunities to work full stack on products that have the frontend written in Javascript (React), with the business logic implemented in Python and Java with persistence in PostgreSQL running in Kubernetes in Google Cloud. We are a DevOps organization and you will have shared responsibility for testing, deploying, and ensuring the health of our services. We use machine learning to process data, and some experience with building, training and evaluating models would be a great plus.

What you get as a software engineer in MazeMap

First and foremost, you get to work with many extremely skilled and experienced colleagues. You also get to work with exciting technical challenges. We have confidence in you to solve problems, and our engineers feel that they are heard, that they get to improve their skill set, and

that they learn new things. You will experience that what you do actually has an impact on the company.

MazeMap currently has three engineering teams, and the opening is in the team that is responsible for the internal tools that we use to produce maps, as well as other backend services.

We are located in state-of-the-art premises in the penthouse floor of the Adressa building in Trondheim, and have a flexible arrangement in relation to working hours and home office.

Our Process

We want to keep things moving quickly, so we run a rolling application process. Our process involves a conversation with the Global HR Manager, followed by the Team Lead for this role. There are also 2 technical interviews, followed by a reference check.
