As a Mentor, you will play a valuable role in supporting 1-2 junior backend developers. Your primary responsibility will be to provide hands-on guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise, ensuring the successful implementation of the core foundation and key features in our sound based mobile application.
Collaborate with our founder, backend and frontend developer to define and implement scalable backend solutions to support our application functionalities.

Conduct virtual hands-on sessions with junior developers.
Motivate and stimulate a good working environment for the 1-2 developers that you will be mentoring.
Time investment and structure around availability is flexible and depends on you and will be something we will define in further detail together during an interview.
We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer with:
At least 5 years of experience as a backend or fullstack developer.
Strong SQL skills, proficiency in PostgreSQL and familiarity with Supabase is a plus.
Experience with backend development using Node.js, Python is a plus but not required.
Familiarity with RESTful system required. Experience with real time protocols is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and guide and mentor junior developers.
Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts and solutions.

As a Mentor at The Collective, you will be shaping the technical aspects of our mobile application, mentoring others that are on the same path you once where, while being a catalyst for positive change through the initiatives we build. The engagement is unpaid, but you will get access to a collective of other curious professionals, their knowledge around psychology, human behaviour a strong brand and the tools we create, to help you on your own personal development journey.
