FaunaPhotonics aims to build an industry-leading Biodiversity Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) platform, supported by AI-driven analytics, and an affordable and easy-to-use field sensor technology. FaunaPhotonics is a Danish early-stage company at the forefront of developing a robust, scalable field sensing technology and data analytics platform to provide large enterprises with a simple solution for measuring and reporting complex and pressing biodiversity impacts.

FaunaPhotonics’ objective is to be the industry-leading biodiversity MRV platform that integrates other relevant data sets and technologies to add flora and additional fauna monitoring, measurement and reporting capabilities.


FaunaPhotonics offers Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) to customers, including:

  • Insect and biodiversity monitoring (insect abundance, activity diversity and an estimate of biomass)

  • Baseline assessments

  • Benchmarking of best practices

  • Overtime, actionable insights that incorporate inputs from other relevant data sets and monitoring technologies and techniques.

  • Biodiversity reporting to relevant standards, which in the short run will be CSRD (ESRS E4), GRI, TNFD and SBTN.


The EU Sale Rep profile will need to be customer-focused with an attention to building relationships and closing sales with large enterprises primarily residing and/or operating in EU markets. Attention also needs to be paid to managing the company’s cash flow, as well as to meeting sales targets across 5 core commercial and partner segments.


This will include:

  • Generating new leads and moving sales through the sales pipeline, incl. negotiating, preparing proposals, visiting potential customers.

  • Managing the entire customer journey through FaunaPhotonics’ automated customer portal, as well as answering client questions concerning credit terms, products, prices, and availability.

  • Self-motivated and driven to deliver results that meet and exceed sales goals.

  • Effectively manage cash flow and budget targets.

  • Helping determine pricing schedules for quotes, promotions, and negotiations.

  • Preparing weekly and monthly reports.

  • Giving sales presentations to a range of prospective enterprise clients operating in EU markets.

  • Coordinating sales efforts with inhouse marketing efforts .

  • Public speaking and attending relevant industry events.


You will be joining a small, diverse and highly motivated commercial team which has a mix of nature management/biology and business backgrounds. We have a closely-knit team that supports each other and performs a variety of tasks to get the job done. Thus, your teamwork and inter-personal skills will be extremely important to succeed in this environment.


PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

In summary, the ideal Sales Representative will have:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business or marketing, or a Master’s degree in biology or nature management.

  • Experience/background in biodiversity, biology or nature management is preferred.

  • 2-5yrs experience in selling to large and global enterprises.

  • A good understanding of the sales process and dynamics, as well as strong analytical skills to identify trends and sales patterns.

  • A commitment to excellent customer service.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Planning, organization and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent presentation skills. Comfortable presenting to both internal and external stakeholders, including large groups of people at conferences and other events.

  • Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build relations with both customers and team members.

  • Proficiency with sales management software and CRM. Experience using CRM to manage the sales and forecasting processes.

  • Able to work comfortably in a fast-paced, start-up environment that requires flexibility to initiate and manage multiple tasks in a lean-resource environment.
