The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a master student with a curious and flexible mind, who has the interest to fully own and independently drive a data science project in our company for the total duration of 5 months (30 ECTS), 5.5 months (32.5 ECTS) or 6 months (35 ECTS). The ideal candidate is able to start at the beginning of the incoming semester (August 2024). The master thesis work is unpaid.

The Thesis Topic

Assets on distribution grids are exposed to variations in load, which cause temperature increases. In addition, environmental weather changes have an impact on the thermal response of these assets, and these assets can be located in multiple locations (inside enclosures, out in the open) that need to be factored in. The aim of this project is to use our large database of asset load and temperature measurements together with recorded environmental weather data to expand our existing thermodynamic models to predict variations in asset temperatures.

Your contribution will directly impact the life-cycle and utilisation of assets and thereby optimising the reinvestments needed for the energy transition.
