Role Overview

As our AI/ML Lead, you will spearhead our artificial intelligence and machine learning initiatives. You will have a pivotal role in formulating and executing our AI/ML strategy, building, and overseeing a dedicated team, and working closely with our technical and product teams, CEO, Chief Medical Officer, and scientific committee.

You will initially work hands-on with extensive datasets from wearables and medical devices, playing a crucial role in shaping the future of precision healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead the AI/ML strategic direction of Closar AI.

• Work hands-on with analysis of large-scale data from wearables and medical devices to drive innovation and insights.

• Recruit, build, and manage our AI/ML team.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including technical, product, and executive leadership.

• Contribute to the development of medical recommendations and guidelines, leveraging AI/ML to enhance precision healthcare.

• Establish best practices for data acquisition, preprocessing, and governance to ensure the quality, security, and privacy of healthcare data.

• Represent the company in conferences, and publications, showcasing thought leadership in the intersection of machine learning and healthcare.

Skills & Experience

You possess:

• Deep understanding of machine learning techniques, algorithms, and tools.

• Proven experience in leading data science projects, with tangible outcomes.

• Excelling with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).

• Background in computational biology, health informatics, or a related field.

• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to uncover actionable insights from large datasets.

• Experience in mentoring and leading data scientists and ML engineers.

• Agility to adapt to evolving priorities in a startup environment, with a resilient mindset and a passion for making a meaningful impact in healthcare.

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in computer science, data science, computational biology, or a related field.

• Track record of publications, patents, or contributions to the field of machine learning in healthcare is a plus.

Co-founding team and compensation

As a ML/AI Lead, you would join Closar AI as an additional co-founder sharing our vision of the future of healthcare: personalized, human-centered, and AI-augmented.

The co-founding team is currently composed of a CEO (JP Nordmann) and a CTO (Marcel Laska), plus a medical leader (Dr Eric Åhlberg). All co-founders are currently unpaid.

Your compensation package (salary and equity) will be discussed depending on your profile and needs.
