Role Overview

As a Data Scientist at Woodsense, you'll play a pivotal role in analyzing and deriving actionable insights from our rich dataset. You'll work with a variety of data types, including time series data from IoT sensors, weather data, and text/image data from our users. Key responsibilities include detecting anomalies, trends, and changes in behavior within time series data, as well as utilizing text and image data to build classification models to make our platform smarter and enhance the experience of our users. Understanding the business and our customers will also be crucial in order to succeed in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze diverse datasets, including time series data from IoT sensors, weather data, and text/image data from users, to extract valuable insights.

• Develop and deploy machine learning models.

• Utilize machine learning APIs from vendors like Google Cloud to enhance platform capabilities.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and translate them into data-driven solutions.

• Detect anomalies, trends, and behaviour change in time series data to inform decision-making.

• Continuously evaluate and improve the performance of machine learning models to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency in Python and its data science libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, sktime, keras, etc.).

• Experience working with time series data.

• Familiarity with machine learning techniques and algorithms.

• Experience with machine learning APIs.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Background in machine learning and data science is a plus.
