We at Uvisa Health are seeking a creative soul who can work alongside our founding team, at our location in Denmark, to help bring to life the visual identity of our light-based phototherapy treatment device. We have an initial concept, and technical prototypes, but now need an innovative visionary who can think outside the box (so to speak), and who can walk the line between regulated medical device and high-end consumer product. We are designing an intimate product for women, and creating a disruptive solution that will require a change in known behaviour, and so understanding the unique challenges that surround this is critical.
We want to find someone who understands how to make something visually appealing whilst being ergonomic and technically feasible, and with a strong record of working alongside engineers to take the product from initial concept through to final CE marked product, ready for manufacture.
Lead the design process of our flagship product, from initial concept through to final design, ensuring it aligns with company’s vision and customer needs.
Use "Design Thinking" practices to develop and visualise design concepts using sketches, 3D models, and prototypes. We work in SolidWorks.
Render designs to create beautiful, photorealistic, images for use in branding and marketing materials.
Conduct usability testing to ensure the product design meets the target audience's needs and preferences.
Be the ambassador for the design, gaining buy-in from different stakeholders including potential users of the device, Founders & Investors.
Work alongside the CTO and QA/RA Manager to produce high quality files that can be included in technical documentation.
A Design education in Industrial Design or equivalent.
5+ years of relevant, documented experience.
Experience of working with Design for Manufacture (DFM)
Strong communication skills both visual and verbal. Fluency in English is mandatory.
Excellent sketching skills and genuine passion in drawing and sketching.
3D visualisation; creating 3D objects in SolidWorks and ability to render these to photoquality.
Basics of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign is desirable.
Whilst currently based at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), we are not a student led project and so can provide a professional startup environment.
We are seeking someone ASAP so availability is an important factor in our decision. This would be for an initial 3-5 month period where we will require close to full-time dedication, and ad-hoc thereafter.
